A Strategic Leadership Role in Global Sustainability The Senior Manager, Social Standards position will play a central role in developing and refining B Lab’s social impact standards. The successful candidate will contribute to creating high-performance sustainability frameworks that guide companies toward ethical, equitable, and socially responsible operations. The role will focus heavily on: Human rights and fair work standards Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) Living wage and labor practices Supply chain sustainability Corporate social responsibility Social impact management systems The position sits within B Lab’s Standards Management Team, a department responsible for updating and strengthening the organization’s standards every three to five years. These standards influence thousands of certified businesses and sustainability practitioners worldwide. Driving the Future of B Corp Standards The selected professional will lead research initiatives, revise certification requirements, and collaborate with international stakeholders to ensure B Lab standards remain aligned with global best practices. Core responsibilities include: Developing and revising B Lab Standards content Supporting sustainability governance initiatives Advising companies and stakeholders on social impact standards Contributing to Standard Advisory Council discussions Managing stakeholder engagement processes Supporting interoperability with global sustainability frameworks Delivering training and thought leadership initiatives The role also involves working closely with international experts, nonprofit partners, corporate leaders, and sustainability organizations to improve business accountability across industries. Candidate Qualifications and Experience The ideal candidate will bring at least seven years of direct experience in social impact management and sustainability performance. B Lab is particularly interested in applicants with proven expertise in: Business and human rights Labor and workforce standards Diversity and inclusion frameworks Sustainability auditing Standards development and governance Corporate sustainability strategy Stakeholder engagement and partnership management Applicants should also possess strong communication skills, strategic thinking abilities, and experience working in fast-paced, globally distributed organizations. Additional preferred qualifications include: Experience in corporate social responsibility roles Social auditing expertise Spanish or Portuguese language proficiency Leadership and coaching experience Familiarity with remote collaboration tools such as Slack, Zoom, Asana, and Google Workspace Remote-First Opportunity With Amsterdam Base Although the role operates within a remote-first environment, candidates must reside in the Netherlands and remain within commuting distance of Amsterdam at the start of employment. B Lab clarified that the organization currently does not provide relocation support or work permit sponsorship. Candidates must already hold unrestricted work authorization within the Netherlands.
