Applicants are generally required to: Be accomplished scholars of high standing Be under 65 years of age at the time of appointment (exceptions considered in special cases) Hold a PhD (exceptions permitted only with prior approval from a CSEAS faculty member) Not be currently enrolled in a graduate or postdoctoral programme Be experienced librarians (for library-specific positions only) Have at least six years elapsed since any previous CSEAS fellowship before reapplying These requirements ensure that the programme remains focused on established researchers capable of undertaking independent, high-level academic work. Application Procedure and Requirements Applications to the CSEAS Fellowship must be submitted through an online application system, followed by supporting documents sent via email in PDF format. Applicants are required to provide: A completed online application form A curriculum vitae (maximum five pages, including major publications) A concise research proposal (maximum two pages, double-spaced, using the official form) Two recommendation letters submitted directly by referees on institutional letterhead All materials must be submitted to the designated application email address before the deadline. The application deadline for the 2027 cycle is April 30, 2026. Late submissions are not accepted, and the Center does not provide individual updates regarding selection outcomes.
