The Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB), Faridabad, invites applications for a six-month to one-year research training program for final-year undergraduate and postgraduate students in the fields of science, B.Tech, and M.Tech. The program for the academic session 2026–2027 will commence in July/August 2026. This training program provides students with an opportunity to conduct research under the guidance of RCB faculty members, who work across multiple disciplines at the interface of life sciences and biotechnology. The initiative aims to foster practical skills, research expertise, and exposure to cutting-edge biotechnology applications. Eligibility Criteria Applicants must meet the following requirements: Be a final-year undergraduate (4-year program) or postgraduate student in a recognized University, Institution, or College. Be pursuing a degree in science, B.Tech, or M.Tech programs. Have a dissertation requirement for completion of their degree. Applications must be forwarded by the Head of Department certifying this requirement. Commit to attending the program for a minimum of six months. Note: RCB does not provide accommodation; students must arrange housing for the full duration of the training. Research Opportunities Selected trainees will work under the supervision of RCB scientists, who conduct research in a wide array of areas at the intersection of life sciences and biotechnology. Trainees will gain practical laboratory experience, develop research skills, and contribute to ongoing projects. Research areas include, but are not limited to: Molecular biology and genetics Protein engineering and biotechnology Bioinformatics and computational biology Stem cell research and regenerative medicine Immunology and microbial biotechnology Further information about research projects and faculty expertise can be found on the RCB website: www.rcb.res.in. Application Process Applicants must submit their applications online by 30 April 2026. Only online applications will be considered. The required documents include: Curriculum Vitae (CV) detailing academic qualifications and relevant experience. Recommendation letter from the Head of the Department, certifying the student’s eligibility and dissertation requirement. Only two students per department can be recommended. Brief description of research interests (approximately 750 words) explaining the applicant’s motivation, objectives, and preferred research area. Applications submitted without these documents or via offline channels will not be considered. Recommendation Letter Format The recommendation must be issued on official university letterhead and include the following details: Confirmation that the student is a bona fide student of the program and semester specified. Certification that the student requires a dissertation for the completion of their degree. Endorsement for the student to participate in the RCB training program starting July/August 2026. Assurance that no more than two students per department have been recommended. Sample format: To Whom It May Concern,This is to certify that Mr./Ms. [Name of Student] is a bona fide student of [Program and Semester] in the Department of [Department Name] at [University/Institution]. He/She is recommended for a six-month/one-year dissertation project/training at the Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB), Faridabad, starting July/August 2026 as part of his/her curriculum.
