Purpose of the Consultancy Roster The expanded consultant roster will strengthen ACAPS’ ability to respond rapidly and flexibly to evolving humanitarian needs. Consultants are engaged on a project basis, contributing to analytical products, research initiatives, and capacity-building activities that inform strategic and operational decisions across the humanitarian sector. These roles are particularly well suited to experienced professionals seeking flexible, impactful consultancy work, while remaining closely engaged with real-world humanitarian challenges. Areas of Expertise ACAPS is recruiting consultants across 14 specialist areas, grouped into three broad categories: Analysis and Research Consultants in this area contribute advanced analytical skills and methodological expertise to support crisis analysis and forecasting. Areas include: Novel Data Expertise Anticipatory Analysis Conflict Analysis Data Science Resilience Analysis These roles focus on identifying trends, risks, and opportunities, often using innovative data sources and forward-looking approaches to inform preparedness and response. Thematic Expertise ACAPS is also seeking consultants with deep subject-matter knowledge across key humanitarian themes, including: Displacement Environment Food Security Gender Health Consultants in these areas provide contextual and technical insight, ensuring that analysis reflects sector-specific dynamics and the lived realities of affected populations. Communications and Design Clear communication is central to ACAPS’ impact. Consultants with creative and pedagogical skills are sought in the following areas: Content Editing Language Editing Graphic Design Training Design These roles support the production of accessible, high-quality analytical outputs and learning materials that translate complex analysis into practical guidance for humanitarian decision-makers.
