January–December 2026 | Remote | Youth Applicants (18–30) | Global Majority Regions OnlyTotal Annual Remuneration: €12,000 | 20 hours/week | Deadline: 19 December 2025, 14:00 CET The Migration & Young People Collective Platform (MYCP) is pleased to invite young leaders from the Global Majority to apply for the position of Junior Policy Officer (Part-Time) for the 2026 cycle. This one-year opportunity offers emerging practitioners the space, mentorship, and responsibility to contribute to global policy processes on migration and displacement while developing essential leadership, coordination, and advocacy skills in a youth-led, multicultural environment. As one of the only global platforms led entirely by and for young people affected by migration, MYCP works to ensure that the voices and experiences of children and youth shape policy decisions across international, regional, and national systems. The Junior Policy Officer will play a key role in strengthening MYCP’s Secretariat operations, advancing collective advocacy efforts, and supporting a growing global network of young people influencing migration governance. Who Can Apply? This position is open exclusively to young people aged 18–30 who are from and currently residing in: Latin America & the Caribbean Africa Southwest Asia North Africa Asia & the Pacific Applicants must be available to work primarily within Central European Time (CET) hours. We strongly encourage applications from individuals with lived experience of migration, forced displacement, statelessness, or diaspora and border communities. About the Role The Junior Policy Officer is a remote, part-time consultant role (20 hours per week) reporting directly to the Global Coordinator. The position runs from January to December 2026, with a possibility of renewal based on funding. This is an ideal opportunity for early-career researchers, young advocates, emerging policy practitioners, and youth leaders eager to gain hands-on experience in international governance, policy analysis, and organisational coordination. The successful candidate will support MYCP’s Secretariat, help coordinate global youth structures, and contribute to policy and advocacy outputs that shape international conversations on migration and the rights of children and young people. Key Responsibilities 1. Secretariat & Administrative Support (30%) Provide day-to-day operational support to ensure the smooth functioning of the MYCP Secretariat, International Council, and Coordination Team. Maintain accurate records of meetings, documentation, communications, and archives. Support essential administrative and financial processes, including: monitoring expenditures updating and preparing budgets drafting donor communications supporting grant writing and reporting Assist with external communications and liaison with funders and institutional partners. 2. Internal Coordination (30%) Strengthen coordination across MYCP governance bodies by facilitating regular communication and information flow. Organise internal and external meetings, prepare agendas, take minutes, and support briefings. Provide weekly or biweekly updates on ongoing activities to ensure alignment and accountability. Serve as the coordination focal point for the Youth Committee on Migration & Displacement Data, supporting its activities and outputs. 3. Policy & Advocacy Support (40%) Conduct desk research on global, regional, and national migration issues affecting children and young people. Draft, review, and publish policy statements, submissions, commentary, and advocacy positions. Monitor key policy developments and produce timely briefings for MYCP leadership and member teams. Coordinate with partners, youth organisations, and advocacy networks to advance shared policy objectives. Support volunteer teams by gathering resources, preparing materials, and collating inputs for external meetings and engagements. Person Specification Essential Aged 18–30 and from the Global Majority regions listed. Demonstrated interest in migration, displacement, and international governance. Experience in internal organisational management, including proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets and Word/Google Docs. Excellent written and spoken English. Ability to work remotely in a multicultural, youth-led environment aligned with CET hours. Strong leadership potential, reliability, organisation, and initiative. Desirable Lived experience of migration or displacement. Knowledge of another UN language (e.g., Spanish, French, Arabic). Familiarity with advocacy processes, youth organising, or human rights mechanisms. Personal Attributes Proactive, organised, and entrepreneurial. Deep commitment to youth empowerment, equity, inclusion, and social justice. Eager to contribute to both operational and policy dimensions of international work.
