Each role plays a critical part in advancing the organization’s work toward helping individuals rebuild their lives with dignity. 1. VESL Instructor – United States Closing Date: 7 December 2025 Role Overview:The VESL (Volunteer English as a Second Language) Instructor will provide tailored English-language instruction to refugees and immigrants, empowering them to integrate successfully into their new communities and workplaces. Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver engaging English-language lessons focused on daily communication and employment readiness. Assess learners’ progress and adjust instruction to meet individual needs. Coordinate with IRC’s resettlement and employment teams to align instruction with integration goals. Eligibility & Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Linguistics, TESOL, or a related field. Prior experience teaching ESL/EFL to adult learners, preferably in multicultural environments. Excellent communication and intercultural skills. Commitment to IRC’s humanitarian mission and inclusive values. 2. Associate General Counsel – United States Closing Date: 8 December 2025 Role Overview:Reporting to the General Counsel, the Associate General Counsel provides legal guidance across IRC’s U.S. and global operations, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and organizational policies. Key Responsibilities: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, memoranda of understanding, and partnership agreements. Provide legal support on governance, risk management, and compliance matters. Advise leadership on employment law, intellectual property, and donor-funding requirements. Eligibility & Requirements: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Admission to practice law in at least one U.S. state. Minimum 5 years of relevant legal experience, ideally in the nonprofit or international-development sector. Strong analytical and negotiation skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities across jurisdictions. 3. Senior Director, Global Public Affairs & Communications – United States Closing Date: 7 December 2025 Role Overview:The Senior Director leads the strategic direction and execution of IRC’s global public-affairs and communications initiatives, strengthening the organization’s brand and visibility across international platforms. Key Responsibilities: Oversee global media relations, digital engagement, and brand management. Develop strategic communications that highlight IRC’s impact and influence policy discussions. Guide a cross-functional team to produce compelling content for diverse audiences. Eligibility & Requirements: Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related discipline. 10 + years’ experience in strategic communications or public-affairs leadership. Proven ability to manage large teams and global campaigns. Strong storytelling, media-relations, and stakeholder-engagement skills. 4. Grant Writer – United States Closing Date: 4 December 2025 Role Overview:The Grant Writer supports IRC’s fundraising objectives by developing persuasive, high-quality grant proposals that align with the organization’s humanitarian and development priorities. Key Responsibilities: Research funding opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and corporate donors. Draft and edit proposals, concept notes, and progress reports. Collaborate with program teams to ensure proposals reflect field needs and donor priorities. Eligibility & Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Development Studies, English, or Communications. Minimum 3 years’ experience in grant writing or fundraising within the nonprofit sector. Excellent written communication, research, and editing skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
