Department: Education ProgramReports to: Education Project OfficerSalary Grade: 5 Background Catholic Relief Services (CRS) operates globally across humanitarian and development sectors, supporting vulnerable communities regardless of race, creed, gender, or religion. CRS Egypt began in 1956, initially delivering emergency support following the Suez War. Since then, its programming has expanded from relief assistance to long-term development across education, livelihoods, social cohesion, and emergency response. CRS works closely with local partners to strengthen safeguarding systems and improve service delivery. Current projects range from technical assistance and capacity building to gender-transformative initiatives, educational grants for refugees, community school support, protection activities, and entrepreneurship support for refugees and vulnerable Egyptians. Job Summary The Education Field Officer supports CRS’ Education Program, which assists more than 70,000 refugee and asylum-seeking children through financial assistance and complementary learning initiatives. The role contributes to the implementation, coordination, and monitoring of field activities, ensuring effective community engagement and strong partner collaboration. Working under the supervision of the Education Project Officer, the Education Field Officer plays a key role in strengthening education opportunities for refugees and asylum seekers by supporting partners, mobilising communities, and ensuring quality and consistency in program delivery. Key Responsibilities Project Implementation and Coordination Support timely implementation of field-level activities in line with detailed activity plans. Strengthen systems that ensure quality and accountability in project delivery. Coordinate daily communications with project teams, partners, and community representatives. Facilitate information sharing to build community involvement and support networks. Community Engagement Liaise with community leaders, representatives, and local government officials to ensure inclusive participation in project activities. Mobilise community stakeholders to contribute to the improvement and ownership of education initiatives. Support capacity-building efforts for community representatives in coordination with project teams. Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Coordinate, monitor, and follow up on field activities, ensuring compliance with donor and CRS MEAL requirements. Compile community-level data, ensuring accuracy and timely submission. Contribute to reflective team discussions by analysing simple monitoring data and sharing field insights. Support input into MEAL system design and any updates required throughout the project cycle. Reporting and Documentation Prepare field reports and activity updates, ensuring clarity and accuracy in English and Arabic. Maintain detailed documentation of activities, challenges, and achievements. Support preparation of reports and contributions to donor deliverables as needed. Other Duties Assist with related activities as assigned by the Project Officer. Support training sessions, workshops, and community events. Provide guidance and coordination support to volunteers where relevant. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in International Relations or a related field. Minimum of two years’ experience in community development or community mobilisation. Strong oral presentation and written communication skills in English and Arabic. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and information management systems. Ability to travel up to 30% to field locations beyond Cairo, including Alexandria and Aswan, with more frequent travel within the Cairo metropolitan area. The selected candidate must attend safeguarding training, sign the CRS Safeguarding Policy, and adhere to the Code of Conduct. Key Working Relationships Supervisory: Volunteers (if applicable). Internal: Education staff, program administration, finance, IT, HR, procurement, and admin teams. External: Community members, Ministry of Education, donor representatives, and implementing partners.
