The successful candidate will play a central role in coordinating a community of practice, managing multi-stakeholder engagement, and developing a standardized framework for corporate leadership in climate resilience. Position Overview The Manager, Corporate Climate Resilience will oversee program design, stakeholder engagement, and the development of a multi-stakeholder, consensus-based framework for corporate leadership on climate resilience. The role requires a strategic, highly organized professional who can facilitate collaboration among diverse stakeholders—including businesses, investors, NGOs, and policymakers—to strengthen corporate adaptation strategies and reporting standards. The position reports directly to the Vice President, Business Engagement, and works closely with colleagues in business engagement, climate resilience, and communications. Key Responsibilities Stakeholder Engagement Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with corporate partners, investors, and NGOs to encourage participation in the climate resilience community of practice and framework development process. Manage a stakeholder database, tracking engagement, interests, and influence levels to guide outreach and participation. Coordinate alignment between business engagement and related initiatives such as the Climate Resilient Communities Accelerator. Support in-person convenings and workshops in selected U.S. states, ensuring inclusive participation and productive dialogue. Project Management Lead the implementation of the project workplan, monitoring progress, deliverables, and risks to ensure milestones are achieved on time and within scope. Oversee consultants and internal teams, setting agendas, managing meetings, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality outcomes. Collaborate with communications staff to produce project updates, public materials, and media content, including website features, press releases, and webinars. Community of Practice Development Facilitate peer learning exchanges, webinars, and roundtables to share best practices among participating companies. Identify and recruit new companies to expand participation, tracking engagement metrics to enhance value. Connect insights from the community of practice with the framework development process to ensure coherence and shared learning. Develop case studies and curate a Knowledge Hub of tools, resources, and examples of corporate climate resilience in collaboration with other C2ES programs. Framework Development Manage the administrative process for developing the standardized corporate climate resilience framework, including scheduling, documentation, and public consultation processes. Facilitate consensus-building sessions, synthesizing stakeholder input into framework revisions. Coordinate with external partners to align best practices from corporate and community-based resilience initiatives. Build partnerships with investors, NGOs, and industry associations to promote framework awareness and adoption. Research and Representation Conduct research, draft reports, and prepare presentations, talking points, and web content related to corporate climate action. Represent C2ES at national and international events, including workshops, conferences, and coalitions. Support additional C2ES projects as needed to advance the organization’s mission. Organizational Inclusion Participate in monthly all-staff meetings led by the staff JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) Council. Contribute to an inclusive, respectful workplace culture that values diverse perspectives. Complete required training during onboarding and annually thereafter. Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s degree with at least four years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with at least two years of experience. Proven ability to manage multi-stakeholder initiatives or consensus-building processes. Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement, outreach, and facilitation. Strong project management skills with a record of delivering complex projects on time. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Understanding of climate change risks, impacts, and corporate sustainability frameworks (e.g., GHG Protocol, TCFD, ISSB, GRI). Familiarity with standards development processes (ISO, ANSI, or similar). Preferred: Experience in climate adaptation and resilience or corporate emissions reduction initiatives. Prior experience managing a community of practice or professional network. Existing professional connections within the sustainability or climate resilience sectors. Experience working across private, nonprofit, and government sectors. Compensation and Benefits Salary: $80,000–$100,000 (based on experience).Status: Full-time, exempt.Location: Washington, D.C. (Hybrid) or remote within the U.S. (with travel to headquarters approximately four weeks per year).
