The ChildFund International is currently recruiting for the position of Advisor II, Resource Mobilization, a full-time, fixed-term global role focused on strengthening funding strategies and expanding financial resources for child-centered development programmes worldwide. This position is part of the organization’s Global Impact division and supports its Business Development function. The role is remote and open to candidates residing in select countries, including Mexico, Honduras, Guatemala, Ecuador, and Bolivia, provided they hold valid work authorization in their country of residence. The contract runs until 30 June 2027, with compensation paid in local currency depending on location. Role Overview: Advisor II, Resource Mobilization The Advisor II, Resource Mobilization plays a strategic leadership role within the Global Resource Mobilization Team. The position focuses on securing and expanding funding opportunities from a diverse range of partners, including: Bilateral donors Multilateral institutions Foundations Corporations Innovative financing mechanisms Local and in-country funders The role involves leading complex, high-value proposal development processes and strengthening the organization’s ability to secure multi-million-dollar grants supporting child-focused programmes globally. Key Responsibilities The Advisor II will be responsible for leading and coordinating resource mobilization activities across multiple teams, regions, and funding opportunities. Proposal Development and Leadership Core responsibilities include: Leading end-to-end proposal development processes for high-value funding opportunities Designing winning proposal strategies, including technical, financial, and co-investment components Conducting competitive analysis to inform strategic positioning and win themes Coordinating consortium development and partner negotiations Managing proposal timelines, review cycles, and quality assurance processes Writing and editing key sections of complex funding proposals Developing consultant scopes of work for proposal support Strategic Resource Mobilization The role also focuses on strengthening funding pipelines through: Conducting business intelligence research and funding landscape analysis Identifying emerging funding opportunities and donor trends Developing capability statements and organizational positioning materials Supporting pre-positioning strategies with prospective and existing donors Collaborating with communications teams to align messaging and outreach Capacity Building and Training A key function of the role is strengthening internal capacity across ChildFund’s global teams by: Designing and delivering resource mobilization training programmes Developing tools and guidance materials for proposal development Coaching and mentoring country office staff Supporting the adoption of improved systems and processes Leading after-action reviews to capture learning and improve future performance Monitoring, Forecasting, and Coordination Additional responsibilities include: Supporting pipeline forecasting and resource mobilization metrics Contributing to strategic funding analysis Participating in cross-functional collaboration across global teams Traveling internationally as required for donor engagement and project support Required Qualifications and Experience Candidates are expected to have strong academic backgrounds and extensive professional experience in international development and fundraising. Minimum requirements include: Bachelor’s degree in international relations, business administration, or a related field 6–8 years of experience securing multi-million-dollar grants (preferably above $10M) Experience working with: Bilateral donors such as the U.S. Department of State Multilateral institutions Foundations and corporate funders Innovative financing mechanisms At least 3 years of experience in advanced pre-positioning and donor engagement At least 3 years of experience designing and delivering training programmes Experience living and working in a developing country context Preferred experience includes: Resource mobilization in sectors such as education, livelihoods, sustainability, and child protection Strong competitor analysis and proposal strategy development Familiarity with child-centered development programming Skills and Competencies The role requires strong technical, analytical, and interpersonal capabilities, including: Advanced proposal writing and editing skills Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities Excellent project management and organizational skills Ability to work in geographically dispersed, matrixed teams Proficiency in Microsoft Office and collaboration platforms such as SharePoint Strong budgeting and financial proposal development skills Language requirements: Fluent English (required) Spanish or French proficiency (strongly preferred) Additional competencies include: Team collaboration and communication skills Resilience in complex and fast-changing environments Digital literacy and adaptability to new technologies Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities Working Environment and Expectations The position is fully remote, but requires the ability to work effectively across multiple time zones and engage with global teams. The role involves regular international travel and participation in cross-regional collaboration efforts. Candidates must demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to perform in dynamic, fast-paced humanitarian and development contexts.
