The Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) and World Agroforestry (ICRAF) are seeking a highly motivated professional to serve as GLF Partnerships and Engagement Officer under a nine-month consultancy contract, with the possibility of renewal. This role is ideally suited for candidates operating within Europe or Africa time zones and offers a strategic opportunity to contribute to global sustainability, ecosystem restoration and inclusive development. As CGIAR Research Centers, CIFOR and ICRAF work at the forefront of science and policy to address climate change, biodiversity loss, food insecurity and inequity. Through multidisciplinary research and partnerships, the institutions advance evidence-based solutions that enhance livelihoods and restore ecosystems across diverse landscapes. About the Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) The Global Landscapes Forum was launched in 2013 by CIFOR-ICRAF in collaboration with core partners including United Nations Environment Programme and the World Bank, with funding support from the Governments of Germany, Canada and Luxembourg, and the Global Environment Facility (GEF). Today, GLF is recognized as the world’s largest knowledge-led platform on sustainable landscapes. Since its inception, it has: Engaged more than 35 Charter Members and 110 active partners Connected over 25,000 organizations Mobilized 1.3 million youth Reached audiences in 185 countries Generated a cumulative media reach exceeding 4 billion people The GLF advances sustainable development through initiatives in: Sustainable finance Knowledge and learning Youth leadership Locally led development (GLFx) Ecosystem restoration It serves as a collaborative platform where farmers, policymakers, private sector leaders, scientists and civil society actors co-create actionable pathways toward sustainability. Position Overview The GLF Partnerships and Engagement Officer will lead and coordinate fundraising, partnership cultivation and strategic relationship management efforts. The consultant will play a central role in expanding and diversifying funding streams while strengthening engagement with existing donors and Charter Members. Working closely with CIFOR-ICRAF’s Resource Mobilization Team, the selected candidate will ensure that GLF’s financial sustainability and partnership ecosystem remain resilient, mission-aligned and future-focused. Key Responsibilities 1. Fundraising and Resource Mobilization The consultant will: Lead development and implementation of fundraising strategies aligned with GLF’s Theory of Change Diversify funding sources across institutional donors, philanthropies and private sector actors Support both core funding and initiative-specific resource mobilization Develop innovative financing approaches, including sponsorship models and crowdfunding strategies Contribute to sustainable business models for GLF events and programs The role requires balancing traditional grant-based fundraising with proactive partnership development in a rapidly evolving funding landscape. 2. Donor and Partner Management A strong emphasis will be placed on stewardship and long-term relationship building. Responsibilities include: Managing relationships with Charter Members and Engaged Partners Ensuring consistent, high-quality communication and reporting Strengthening retention strategies for existing donors Expanding partnerships, particularly across the Global South Conducting due diligence to ensure alignment with GLF values and objectives The consultant will position GLF partnerships as strategic collaborations built on shared impact and mutual benefit. 3. Proposal Development and Compliance The role includes leading or coordinating: Proposal drafting and concept note development Budget preparation and grant documentation Donor reporting and compliance management Cross-team collaboration with finance, communications and program units High-quality writing and analytical skills are essential to ensure proposals are compelling, compliant and aligned with strategic goals. 4. Strategy and Internal Coordination In collaboration with GLF leadership, the consultant will: Refine and articulate GLF’s value proposition Align partnership strategies with organizational priorities Coordinate with regional hubs and team leads Facilitate internal workshops to strengthen fundraising capacity Support internal knowledge-sharing and learning processes The role requires the ability to operate across teams in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. 5. Systems, Monitoring and Intelligence The selected candidate will: Manage and optimize the Salesforce CRM system Track fundraising trends and partnership opportunities Monitor funding landscape developments Provide data-driven updates and insights Support continuous improvement through structured monitoring Strong technical proficiency with CRM tools and analytical reporting is expected. Candidate Profile Qualified applicants should demonstrate: BSc or MSc (preferred) in a relevant field connected to sustainable development or GLF themes Proven experience in partnership engagement and donor relations Experience leading fundraising efforts within NGOs or international organizations Strong research and analytical capabilities CRM management experience (Salesforce preferred) Excellent written communication and proposal drafting skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate with senior leadership Adaptability to shifting funding landscapes Fluency in English (Spanish and/or French considered an asset) Terms and Conditions Consultancy contract (9 months, renewable) Preferred time zones: Europe or Africa Application deadline: 13 March 2026 Equal opportunity employer committed to gender diversity and multicultural inclusion Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
