Overview of the Writer and Associate Editor Role The Writer and Associate Editor will support Climate Central’s editorial and communications operations by producing high-quality climate-focused content and managing editorial workflows. The selected candidate will work closely with: Scientists Designers Technologists Writers Communications teams Editorial professionals The role reports directly to the Vice President for Content Creation and supports the production of Climate Matters, Climate Central’s weekly data-driven publication. Key Responsibilities Writing and Editorial Support The successful candidate will contribute to a variety of editorial projects, including explainers, reports, and science communication materials. Primary responsibilities include: Researching and writing climate-related articles Producing science explainers and data-driven reports Revising and editing editorial content Copy editing for clarity, consistency, and scientific accuracy Identifying emerging climate trends and research topics Engaging with subject matter experts The role requires the ability to transform complex scientific information into accessible content suitable for public audiences.
