Concor Construction is inviting suitably qualified and experienced professionals to apply for the position of Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC) Buildings Inspector. This role is based on-site in Cape Town, Western Cape, and is offered on a fixed-term, limited duration contract (LDC). The successful candidate will report directly to the QA/QC Manager and will play a critical role in ensuring that all construction activities comply with contractual specifications, quality standards, and client requirements. Role Purpose The QA/QC Buildings Inspector is responsible for inspecting, verifying, and documenting construction works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards. The role supports proactive quality control throughout the construction lifecycle, ensuring that inspection records are accurately compiled, signed off, and submitted to the client as work progresses. The position requires close collaboration with internal teams, contractors, suppliers, and clients to maintain quality assurance processes and resolve quality-related issues efficiently and effectively. Key Responsibilities The successful incumbent will be accountable for a wide range of quality-related functions, including but not limited to the following: Inspection and Quality Control Coordinating and booking inspections with internal teams and clients Conducting on-site inspections in line with the approved inspection schedule Verifying that construction works meet contractual specifications and standards Supervising aspects of the production process to ensure quality compliance Quality Documentation and Records Compiling and maintaining detailed inspection records as work progresses Updating and managing quality record books for formal submission to the client Documenting inspection outcomes through comprehensive reports and performance records Ensuring quality documentation is accurately signed off at each project stage Non-Conformance and Corrective Actions Assisting in the investigation of client complaints and quality non-conformance issues Monitoring and following up on corrective actions to ensure effective implementation Resolving quality-related issues in a timely and professional manner Audits and Supplier Oversight Assisting with on-site and off-site inspections of contractors, vendors, and suppliers Supporting the release of manufactured items for delivery to site Assisting in auditing contractors’ and suppliers’ quality management practices, including ISO-aligned processes Stakeholder Liaison and Guidance Liaising directly with clients during inspections and sign-off processes Providing guidance to production teams on quality control concerns Recommending improvements to construction and production processes to enhance quality outcomes Minimum Requirements Qualifications A tertiary qualification in Building or a related technical discipline A relevant building trade apprenticeship Certification or experience in ISO 9001 implementation and internal auditing will be advantageous Experience A minimum of five years’ experience as a QA/QC Inspector or in a similar role within the construction industry Proven experience working on site-based construction projects Legal and Compliance Valid South African driver’s licence Must be a South African citizen Knowledge and Skills The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following competencies: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook Strong ability to read, interpret, and apply construction drawings, plans, and specifications Extensive knowledge of quality control standards, inspection procedures, and testing methodologies Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail Well-developed problem-solving abilities and sound professional judgment Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams Strong written and verbal communication skills Employment Details Industry: Building and Construction Job Category: Building Location: Western Cape (Cape Town – site-based) Contract Type: Fixed-Term / Limited Duration Contract Remuneration: Market-related Employment Equity: Yes Application Closing Date: 3 February 2026 Why Join Concor This role offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to high-profile construction projects while working within a structured quality management environment.
