This role provides meaningful, hands-on experience supporting peacebuilding research linked to conflict-affected contexts. The consultation engages approximately 6,000 participants and combines: Key informant interviews Individual questionnaires Focus group discussions The resulting quantitative and qualitative data will inform peacebuilding strategies and policy engagement. Programme Interns will work closely with the SASS Research Manager and collaborate remotely with both UK-based and regional teams. Key Responsibilities Programme Interns will support research and data management activities, including: Organising, maintaining, and securely storing research materials submitted by field teams Quality-checking interview transcripts, reports, and datasets Supporting the management of large-scale quantitative and qualitative datasets Receiving training in qualitative data coding and applying coding frameworks Coding, sorting, and maintaining datasets in line with project requirements Participating in programme and team update meetings to gain insight into peacebuilding operations Contributing to organisational learning through active engagement with programme staff Joining the Security Monitoring rota, tracking movements of in-field staff This may involve occasional essential weekend work These internships are designed to provide practical research experience within the international development and peacebuilding sector. Candidate Profile Concordis welcomes applications from candidates who demonstrate: A strong interest in peacebuilding theory and practice Curiosity about conflict analysis, dialogue processes, and research-based programming A relevant master’s degree (completed or in progress) in: International Relations Development Studies Conflict Analysis Or a related discipline Professional-level proficiency in: English and/or Arabic Foundational research and data literacy skills Interest in learning or developing skills in: Qualitative data analysis Coding methodologies Research software and tools Technical Skills (Desirable) Applicants are encouraged to highlight experience with: Microsoft Excel PowerBI QGIS or other mapping software Kobo Collect Atlas.ti or similar qualitative analysis tools Position Details Role: Programme Intern Location: Remote / Working from home Duration: Six months Time Commitment: Minimum three days per week Flexible working hours Accommodation of different time zones possible Remuneration: Volunteer position No salary or stipend Reimbursement of reasonable expenses £5 daily lunch allowance Training: Structured learning and mentoring Training delivered by senior staff members Reporting Line: Research Manager, SASS Project Key Dates Closing Date: 18 December 2025 Start Date: Early January 2025 Application Process Applicants should submit: A covering letter A CV of no more than two pages Applications should be sent to hr@concordis.international.
