The Connecting Europe Fellowship invites early- to mid-career researchers, think tank professionals, and NGO-based researchers from EU enlargement countries to conduct independent, policy-oriented research in Brussels. Fellows contribute to dialogue on EU policies, enlargement issues, and their intersection with thematic areas such as climate, digital policy, democracy, and foreign policy. Fellows spend three months in Brussels, producing a research paper with practical policy insights and engaging with key stakeholders. Organization: European Policy Centre (EPC)Location: Brussels, BelgiumFellowship Period: February – December 2026Application Deadline: 4 December 2025 What We Offer Two three-month fellowship positions in Brussels between February and December 2026 Mobility grant: €2,500/month for living expenses Coverage of travel costs to/from Brussels Dedicated workspace at the EPC office Opportunity to conduct independent research and publish policy recommendations Access to Brussels-based stakeholders and decision-makers Networking, peer learning, and ongoing engagement beyond the fellowship Who Should Apply Early- to mid-career professionals with at least 1 year of experience in think tanks, universities, or civil society organizations Residents or nationals of EU enlargement countries (Western Balkans, Turkey, Eastern neighborhood) Individuals with strong interest in European affairs, EU enlargement policy, and related topics Excellent English writing and speaking skills A Master’s degree is required; backgrounds in political science, European studies, law, or economics are advantageous Project Focus Areas Fellows develop a policy-focused research paper addressing issues where EU policy intersects with enlargement.
