Strategic Communications Role at the Centre of Feminist Movement Building The Coordinator – Communications position sits at the heart of CREA’s organisational messaging, responsible for shaping how the institution communicates its mission, programmes, and advocacy work to global audiences. Key Responsibilities Across Digital, Print, and Strategic Communications The Communications Coordinator will be responsible for implementing CREA’s communication strategy across multiple channels, ensuring consistency in messaging, branding, and visual identity across all materials. Key responsibilities include: Developing and disseminating newsletters and organisational updates Managing social media platforms including LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter), and YouTube Overseeing website content updates and digital storytelling initiatives Coordinating production of reports, campaigns, event materials, and publications Collaborating with designers, editors, and media professionals on communication products Supporting donor reporting and documentation processes The role also includes managing CREA’s digital presence and ensuring that communication outputs reflect the organisation’s feminist and intersectional values. Digital Strategy and Feminist Communications Approach A defining feature of the position is its emphasis on feminist communication practice. CREA positions communications not merely as a technical function but as a political tool that shapes narratives around power, inclusion, and justice. The organisation’s communication philosophy prioritises accessibility, inclusivity, and representation of structurally excluded communities, particularly in relation to gender equality and sexual and reproductive rights. The Coordinator will therefore play a key role in ensuring that CREA’s messaging reflects these principles across all external and internal communication channels. Managing Digital Platforms and Expanding Online Reach The role includes full responsibility for managing CREA’s digital ecosystem, including its website and social media presence. This involves maintaining updated programme information, publishing impact stories, and supporting the development of digital knowledge platforms such as microsites and campaign hubs. The Coordinator will also be responsible for enhancing digital engagement strategies and building partnerships that expand CREA’s online reach within global feminist and human rights networks. Required Skills and Professional Experience Applicants are expected to have significant experience in communications, ideally within NGOs, INGOs, or international development organisations. The ideal candidate should demonstrate: Proficiency in design tools such as Canva and Adobe Creative Cloud Strong writing and editorial skills in English Experience managing social media and digital campaigns Knowledge of feminist, gender, and human rights issues Ability to coordinate events, campaigns, and advocacy materials Strong organisational, analytical, and interpersonal skills Fluency in Hindi is considered an advantage, alongside a demonstrated commitment to feminist values and social justice advocacy. The role typically requires 8–10 years of progressive professional experience in communications or related fields. Compensation, Benefits, and Inclusive Workplace Culture CREA offers a monthly salary range of INR 75,000 to INR 150,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
