Description

Applications are now open for EVERYTHING AI, a two-day international event focused on the governance, regulation, and societal implications of artificial intelligence. The event is jointly organized by the United Nations Institute for Training and Research and the European Engineering Learning Innovation and Science Alliance. Scheduled to take place on 13–14 May 2026 at the UN House in Brussels, the event will convene global policymakers, researchers, engineers, and institutional leaders to explore artificial intelligence as a transformative force shaping governance systems, economies, and societies. The event will be hosted at the UN House Brussels and will provide participants the option to attend either in person or online. Rethinking Artificial Intelligence Governance Artificial intelligence has rapidly evolved into a powerful system that transcends disciplinary, institutional, and sectoral boundaries. Its influence now extends across governance structures, public institutions, legal systems, and economic frameworks. As AI technologies reshape how societies organize knowledge, exercise power, and make policy decisions, governments and institutions are increasingly faced with complex governance challenges. These include questions about accountability, transparency, democratic resilience, cybersecurity, and ethical oversight. EVERYTHING AI aims to create a platform where stakeholders can critically examine these issues and identify practical pathways for implementing responsible AI governance frameworks. Rather than approaching artificial intelligence solely as a technological innovation or regulatory problem, the event adopts a multidisciplinary perspective grounded in institutional realities and practical implementation. Participants will explore the intersection of artificial intelligence with: Law and regulatory frameworks Ethics and accountability mechanisms Democratic governance and public trust Economic transformation and digital markets Scientific knowledge production Human rights protections The discussions will focus on translating high-level governance principles into operational, accountable, and implementable policy frameworks. Objectives of the EVERYTHING AI Event The event seeks to strengthen international dialogue and collaboration around AI governance through a series of structured discussions and expert-led sessions. Key objectives include: Bringing together policy, legal, technical, and standards expertise to address complex governance questions surrounding artificial intelligence Bridging the gap between institutional ambitions and real-world implementation capabilities Equipping participants with actionable insights on AI accountability, robustness, cybersecurity, and democratic resilience Advancing cross-border cooperation and shared understanding across jurisdictions, disciplines, and professional communities By connecting experts from multiple sectors, the event aims to generate practical solutions and collaborative strategies for managing the societal impacts of artificial intelligence. Why Participate Participants will engage in in-depth discussions exploring both the opportunities and risks associated with emerging AI technologies. Over the two-day programme, attendees will examine critical issues such as: Global South perspectives on AI governance and policy frameworks The behavior of agentic AI systems outside controlled environments, including the Moltbook case study Engineering approaches to robustness and assurance frameworks for AI systems Translating ethical commitments into technical standards and operational safeguards Additional sessions will address AI’s implications for several high-impact sectors and policy areas, including: Judicial systems and legal risk in the era of generative AI Democratic resilience and the spread of misinformation Health data protection and digital privacy Institutional accountability and regulatory oversight Participants will also explore innovative governance tools such as digital twins for policymaking, including the DestinE initiative, along with discussions on cybersecurity, adversarial risks, and red-teaming strategies. The programme is designed to encourage active dialogue and practical exchange, combining keynote presentations, expert panels, thematic workshops, and structured question-and-answer sessions. Who Should Apply The event is designed for professionals and institutional leaders involved in shaping the governance and implementation of artificial intelligence. Applicants are welcomed from diverse sectors, including: Policymakers, regulators, and government authorities Representatives of international organizations and United Nations agencies Academic researchers and scientific experts Civil society leaders and human rights practitioners Technology governance specialists and digital policy advisors Standards, assurance, and compliance professionals Institutional leaders responsible for AI strategy and risk management Approximately one hundred participants from across the world will be selected to participate in the event, ensuring a high-level and diverse international dialogue.
