globalsouthopportunities.com

Application Deadline

April 14, 2026

Description

The Youth in Evaluation Forum 2026 has officially opened its Expression of Interest (EoI) process for organizations interested in hosting regional events. These events will take place on 20–21 May 2026 as part of a coordinated global initiative that promotes youth engagement in monitoring and evaluation practices. Organizations interested in participating are invited to submit proposals outlining their plans to organize and host regional events aligned with the objectives of the forum. The initiative aims to strengthen collaboration among young evaluators, professional networks, and partner organizations while amplifying youth perspectives within the evaluation ecosystem. All submissions must be completed through the official form and submitted no later than 21 March 2026. Applicants are encouraged to review the official Guide for Organizers before completing the form to ensure that their proposals meet the required guidelines and expectations. Purpose of the Youth in Evaluation Forum The Youth in Evaluation Forum is designed to provide a platform for young professionals, evaluation practitioners, and organizations to exchange knowledge, strengthen partnerships, and explore innovative approaches to evaluation. The regional events will contribute to a broader global conversation by encouraging inclusive participation and supporting the development of emerging evaluators. The forum also seeks to create opportunities for collaboration between youth networks, evaluation associations, and development partners. Key objectives of the forum include: Promoting youth leadership in evaluation initiatives. Strengthening collaboration among regional and global evaluation networks. Encouraging knowledge exchange on innovative evaluation practices. Supporting the professional development of young evaluators. Increasing awareness of the importance of evaluation in policy and development programs. Through regional events, participants will engage in discussions, workshops, and networking activities that highlight the role of youth in shaping the future of evaluation. Eligibility and Leadership of Regional Events Regional Voluntary Organizations for Professional Evaluation (VOPEs) and EvalYouth chapters are strongly encouraged to take the lead in submitting Expression of Interest proposals. These organizations play a critical role in strengthening the evaluation community and supporting youth-led initiatives. Other organizations may also participate in the process, particularly when collaborating as co-organizers alongside regional VOPEs and EvalYouth chapters. This collaborative approach helps ensure broader participation and stronger regional representation. Important considerations for leadership and partnerships include: Regional VOPEs and EvalYouth chapters are encouraged to act as primary organizers. Other organizations may join as co-organizers to support event planning and implementation. Partner organizations within the region should maintain ownership and leadership throughout the entire process. Collaboration among regional stakeholders is encouraged to maximize impact and participation. This structure ensures that events remain locally relevant while contributing to the global objectives of the forum. Event Dates and Format All regional events must take place on one of the designated dates: 20 May 2026 21 May 2026 Organizers are encouraged to select a time slot that maximizes accessibility and participation within their respective regions. Scheduling should take into account time zones, regional availability, and potential audience engagement. To ensure accessibility and manage costs effectively, organizers are advised to consider flexible event formats. Recommended options include: Virtual events Hybrid events combining in-person and online participation These formats enable broader participation while minimizing logistical and financial barriers. Virtual and hybrid models also make it easier for regional and international participants to engage in the discussions. Responsibilities of Proposing Organizations Organizations submitting an Expression of Interest are responsible for managing the full lifecycle of their proposed event. This includes planning, implementation, communication, and follow-up activities associated with the regional forum event. Key responsibilities include: Planning and coordinating the event program. Managing logistical arrangements and event delivery. Covering all event-related costs. Leading communication and outreach activities before, during, and after the event. Coordinating participant engagement and stakeholder involvement. Managing translation or interpretation services when necessary. By taking full ownership of these responsibilities, regional organizers help ensure that each event reflects the priorities and needs of their local evaluation communities. Support from the Global Eval4Action Team While regional organizations will lead the implementation of events, the Eval4Action global team will provide coordination support to facilitate a smooth and successful rollout of the Youth in Evaluation Forum 2026. Support from the global team includes: Coordination across regional events. Alignment with the broader objectives of the global forum. Assistance with broader communication and visibility. Strategic support to strengthen collaboration among participating organizations. This collaborative framework ensures that regional events remain locally driven while contributing to the global dialogue on youth and evaluation. Submission Deadline and Contact Information All Expression of Interest submissions must be completed and submitted by 21 March 2026. Late submissions may not be considered, so organizations are encouraged to review the guidelines and prepare their proposals well in advance. Before submitting the form, applicants should carefully review the Guide for Organizers to ensure compliance with all requirements. The Youth in Evaluation Forum 2026 represents an important opportunity to strengthen youth participation in evaluation practice and to foster collaboration across regions. Organizations that are passionate about empowering young evaluators are encouraged to submit their proposals and contribute to this global initiative.
