Bursary Overview The Exxaro Feeder Bursary Programme provides comprehensive support for university students pursuing specific qualifications in 2026. Successful applicants will join a vibrant community of scholars and receive financial and developmental assistance aimed at empowering them to excel academically and professionally. Exxaro’s bursary recipients benefit from: Full or partial tuition coverage at accredited South African universities. Book and accommodation allowances, where applicable. Mentorship and professional development, including workshops and exposure to real-world projects. Networking opportunities within Exxaro’s extensive corporate ecosystem. Potential work-back opportunities through internships or post-graduation employment placements. Eligible Fields of Study Exxaro invites applications from students who will be enrolled in the following academic disciplines during 2026: Civil Engineering – 2nd or 4th year of study towards a BEng/BSc in Civil Engineering. Industrial Engineering – 2nd or 4th year of study towards a BEng/BSc in Industrial Engineering. Electrical Engineering – 2nd year of study towards a BEng/BSc in Electrical Engineering. Mechanical Engineering – 2nd year of study towards a BEng in Mechanical Engineering. Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering – 2nd or 4th year of study towards a BEng/BSc in Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering. Geology – 2nd or 3rd year of study towards a BSc in Geology. Mining Engineering – 2nd year of study towards a BEng/BSc in Mining Engineering. Mine Surveying – 3rd or Honours year of study towards a BEng/BSc in Mine Surveying. Data Science – 3rd year of study towards a BTech, B.DatSci, or B.Comp specialising in Data Sciences. Students in these disciplines who demonstrate exceptional academic performance and commitment to their field of study are encouraged to apply. Duties and Responsibilities As a recipient of the Exxaro Feeder Bursary, students are expected to maintain a high standard of academic and personal conduct. The bursary carries with it specific responsibilities to ensure continued eligibility and alignment with Exxaro’s core values of accountability, integrity, and growth. Recipients will be required to: Maintain strong academic performance, achieving the minimum average specified in the bursary agreement. Attend classes and complete all coursework diligently, including assignments, projects, and examinations. Submit progress reports each semester to the bursary office, including official academic transcripts. Participate in mentorship and training programmes organized by Exxaro to support personal and professional growth. Uphold good conduct and serve as an ambassador for the Exxaro brand, demonstrating professionalism and ethical behaviour. Fulfil work-back obligations if applicable, through internships or graduate employment within Exxaro after completing studies.
