In Kenya, the project operates across three clusters: Mara-Serengeti Karamoja Mandera The project is structured around three main pillars: Environment, Economic and Social. FAO implements the project through direct delivery, partnerships under Letters of Agreement and engagement with private-sector actors through service contracts. Key Responsibilities The successful candidate will support coordination, implementation, monitoring and reporting of activities across the three project clusters. Major responsibilities will include: Coordinating with County-Provided Human Resources across the three clusters. Supporting field actions and context monitoring following workshops and training activities. Ensuring timely updates to project activity monitoring tools. Planning and coordinating mobilization for PFS, FFS and value-chain trainings and workshops. Supporting beneficiary data entry and updates through project reporting and Kobo monitoring and evaluation tools. Supporting field implementation in collaboration with cluster affiliates. Organizing cluster-based and joint cluster meetings. Preparing meeting minutes and tracking action points. Supporting development of Requests for Proposals and Letters of Agreement. Supporting procurement of animal health inputs, including vaccines and drugs. Developing technical specifications and assisting with bidder evaluations. Monitoring implementation of Letters of Agreement. Providing technical and coordination support to the PLACE SME Grant Facility. Undertaking other duties assigned by the relevant programme and project managers. Education and Professional Experience Applicants must hold a university degree in Animal Health and Production from a recognized university. A master’s degree in a relevant field will be considered an added advantage. Candidates with a bachelor’s degree must have at least three years of relevant professional experience in livestock health and/or animal production. The position requires working knowledge of both English and Kiswahili. Applicants must be nationals of Kenya. Additional Skills and Selection Criteria FAO will assess candidates against its core competencies, including results focus, teamwork, communication, building effective relationships, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement. Technical and functional capabilities of interest include experience in: Coordinating and organizing trainings and workshops. Organizing community meetings and activities involving cooperatives. Report writing and presentation. Gender-, youth- and conflict-sensitive programming. Livestock health and production activities. Previous experience working with government institutions, the United Nations, international NGOs or development partners will be an added advantage.
