To strengthen its Finance Systems function, ForAfrika is seeking a skilled and motivated Finance Systems Assistant to join its team on a remote basis. Position Overview The Finance Systems Assistant will work under the supervision of the Finance Systems Specialist and report functionally to the Financial Systems Administrator. The role provides technical and administrative support across ForAfrika’s finance systems and contributes to the effective coordination of daily system operations. Key objectives of the role include: Supporting the administration and optimisation of financial systems Assisting system users across multiple departments and countries Contributing to the development and maintenance of financial procedures and internal controls Key Roles and Responsibilities Sage Intacct System Support The Finance Systems Assistant will act as a secondary point of contact for Sage Intacct-related matters and support the smooth operation of the system across the organisation. Responsibilities include: Coordinating and responding to Sage Intacct system queries Supporting monthly opening and closing of accounting periods Ensuring a user-friendly and efficient system interface Liaising with senior finance staff and departmental managers to resolve system issues Assisting with the preparation and delivery of Sage Intacct training for finance and non-finance users Supporting the design, implementation, and monitoring of: Financial report templates Custom reports required for legal, donor, and management purposes Maintaining and monitoring user accounts and access permissions across all ForAfrika offices Monitoring transactions within: General Ledger Accounts Payable Accounts Receivable Assisting with the creation and maintenance of reference data and dimension codes Supporting data imports and exports and resolving related system issues Assisting with system-related audit requirements, including internal and external reviews Providing support for budgeting processes as requested by finance leadership Salesforce System Support In addition to financial systems, the role supports Salesforce operations in collaboration with the Salesforce Administrator. Responsibilities include: Serving as a secondary point of contact for Salesforce system issues Assisting with the setup, review, and maintenance of user accounts Supporting system monitoring to ensure data accuracy and completeness Assisting with project close-outs within the system Supporting users across the organisation in designing and running Salesforce reports Assisting with the planning and delivery of: User onboarding Ongoing Salesforce training sessions Knowledge, Skills, and Experience The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and competencies: Qualifications and Experience Diploma or degree in: Accounting Business Administration Finance or a related field Relevant professional certification is an advantage Information technology certification or experience is desirable Minimum of two years’ experience in a related role, preferably within a not-for-profit organisation Technical and Professional Skills Strong computer literacy, particularly in: Microsoft Excel Microsoft Word Working knowledge of Sage Intacct is an advantage Sound understanding of: Accounting principles IFRS Internal control frameworks Core Competencies Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong planning, organisational, and administrative abilities Ability to translate technical concepts into user-friendly language Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team Demonstrated initiative and ability to anticipate next steps Consistent delivery of high-quality outputs within set timelines Core Values ForAfrika’s culture and impact are guided by strong organisational values, including: Deep Love for Africa Nothing is impossible Persistence in the face of challenges Initiative Bold thinking Creative problem-solving Dependability Commitment to excellence Self-motivation and accountability Discipline Professionalism Focus and decisiveness Compassion Kindness Authenticity Application Process Interested and qualified candidates are encouraged to apply online on or before 19 January 2026.
