Freedom to Slaves (FTS), a global leader in the fight against modern slavery, has opened applications for three exciting internship roles beginning in 2026. These opportunities offer hands-on experience in program support, communications, and knowledge management—ideal for students and emerging professionals committed to advancing human rights. All three positions were posted on 21 November 2025, with deadlines in December. Each role provides an opportunity to support FTS’s mission of combating forced labour, human trafficking, and modern slavery through research, advocacy, communications, and community-led action. 1. Latin America Programs Intern Organization: FTSDeadline: 23 December 2025 Role Overview The Latin America Programs Intern will support FTS’s regional initiatives aimed at preventing exploitation, strengthening survivor resilience, and partnering with local organizations to dismantle systems that enable modern slavery. Key Responsibilities Assist in monitoring and tracking project activities and regional partner reports Support research on trafficking patterns, labour exploitation, and community-based solutions Contribute to data collection, documentation, and program analysis Help organize virtual meetings, workshops, and regional events Provide administrative and coordination support to the Latin America programs team Preferred Skills & Qualifications Strong interest in human rights, labour rights, migration, or anti-trafficking initiatives Excellent research, communication, and organizational abilities Ability to work in multicultural, multilingual environments Spanish or Portuguese language skills are highly desirable This role is ideal for candidates passionate about regional development, grassroots advocacy, and evidence-based approaches to reducing vulnerability to exploitation. Communications Intern: Conversations on Modern Slavery Podcast Organization: FTSDeadline: 15 December 2025 Role Overview This internship focuses on supporting the production of the Conversations on Modern Slavery podcast—a key FTS platform amplifying survivor voices, discussing solutions, and raising awareness about global trafficking and exploitation. Key Responsibilities Assist with podcast planning, guest outreach, and episode scheduling Help develop interview questions, scripts, and content outlines Support audio editing, transcription, and post-production workflows Create promotional content for social media and newsletters Conduct background research on thematic areas and interview topics Preferred Skills & Qualifications Interest or experience in podcast production, audio storytelling, or communications Strong writing and research skills Familiarity with audio editing tools (e.g., Audacity, Adobe Audition) is an advantage Ability to work creatively and independently This internship suits applicants who are passionate about digital storytelling and using media to spotlight human rights issues globally. Key Responsibilities Create internal newsletters, updates, and communication materials Support staff engagement initiatives and virtual team events Assist in organizing and refining internal knowledge hubs and shared resources Contribute to documentation, content organization, and knowledge-sharing tools Help standardize internal communication processes to improve workflow Preferred Skills & Qualifications Strong writing, editing, and communication abilities Interest in knowledge management, organizational development, or internal communications Detail-oriented with strong digital organization skills Comfortable collaborating with teams in different time zones This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy building systems, improving collaboration, and supporting global teams to work more efficiently and cohesively.
