Internship Pathways AIIB offers two distinct internship tracks: 1. Corporate Internship Designed for project-based work supporting AIIB’s operational and strategic priorities. Interns may work on: Collaborative projects, where small teams develop and present solutions to real business challenges Individual assignments, delivering tangible outputs within a specific department These internships are mainly on-site in Beijing, China. 2. Research / Academic Internship Ideal for students seeking research-intensive roles aligned with their academic programs. This track: Focuses on data analysis, research, and policy-oriented outputs Can be conducted remotely, in person, or in hybrid format Offers flexibility to align with academic calendars Eligibility Criteria The program is open to candidates of all nationalities. Applicants must meet the following requirements: Education: Currently enrolled in a full-time Master’s or PhD program at an internationally recognized institution, with plans to return to school after the internship Field of Study: Preference for disciplines aligned with AIIB’s work, including economics, finance, engineering, data science, international development, climate studies, communications, IT, public policy, and related fields Experience: Prior work experience or internships are an advantage but not mandatory Language: Fluency in written and spoken English Skills: Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Financial Support AIIB provides competitive support to interns, including: USD 90 per workday stipend Round-trip flight ticket to Beijing (for on-site interns) Available Internship Positions AIIB is recruiting interns across multiple departments, including: Economics & Research Communications & Graphic Design Corporate Secretariat & Board Operations Finance, Treasury & Investment Operations Risk Management & Responsible AI Human Resources & Internal Audit IT, Cybersecurity & Digital Transformation Climate Finance, Policy & Strategy Internship roles are available in Beijing (on-site) and hybrid/remote formats, depending on the position.
