Gensler said the ideal candidate will serve as both a strategic thinker and hands-on content creator, helping guide projects from early concepts through final publication. The role requires someone who enjoys identifying important stories within research, refining key messages, managing production schedules, and ensuring content reaches internal and external audiences effectively. Key responsibilities include leading communications planning for research initiatives, managing integrated campaigns involving editorial, design, web, and social media teams, coordinating project timelines, and supporting efforts to increase the visibility and influence of Gensler’s research. The Research Communications Strategist will also be responsible for writing and editing a wide range of materials, including research reports, blog articles, presentations, LinkedIn newsletters, website content, internal communications, and campaign resources. The position involves collaborating with external writers, proofreaders, creative contributors, and design teams to deliver high-quality communications. In addition, the successful applicant will maintain detailed project plans using tools such as Asana, contribute to editorial calendars, and support strategic communications planning across Gensler Research Institute programs. Applicants are expected to have between three and five years of professional experience in writing, editorial, publishing, communications, or a related field. Strong writing and editing abilities are essential, with candidates required to provide examples demonstrating their ability to translate research into engaging and understandable content. Candidates should also have experience working with editorial and design teams, understand digital and print publication processes, and demonstrate strong organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is required, while experience with Adobe InDesign is considered essential. Familiarity with Adobe InCopy, Photoshop, or Illustrator is an advantage. Gensler is seeking professionals who can manage multiple priorities, communicate effectively with senior leaders, and contribute positively within a collaborative workplace environment. The position offers an estimated base salary of $80,000 to $85,000, in addition to potential bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package.
