The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is recruiting three Project Coordinators to support the implementation of a multi-stakeholder programme designed to create dignified and sustainable employment opportunities for Nigerian youth under the age of 35 across agrifood value chains. The initiative places strong emphasis on inclusion, with targeted benefits for young women, persons with disabilities, and internally displaced persons. The Project Coordinators will play a critical role in ensuring effective field-level coordination, partner alignment, and performance management across multiple states within an assigned zone. Each role is offered on a fixed-term contract of 24 months, subject to funding availability, and will be based in one of the following locations: Lagos, Kano, or Nasarawa. About the Role GAIN is leading a complex, large-scale programme that brings together government entities, private sector actors, development partners, and implementing organisations. The Project Coordinators will act as the primary zonal representatives, ensuring that programme activities are delivered in line with national strategies, donor requirements, and GAIN policies. Working closely with programme leadership, partners, and state-level stakeholders, the coordinators will harmonise implementation efforts, monitor progress, and proactively address operational challenges. The role requires a strong balance of strategic oversight and hands-on field engagement. Key Responsibilities The Project Coordinators will be responsible for the following core functions: Providing zonal-level coordination across multiple states to ensure coherence with national programme objectives Aligning operational workplans, budgets, and deliverables with agreed priorities and timelines Supporting harmonisation of partner activities, including data reporting, quality assurance, and implementation standards Facilitating zonal review meetings, joint planning sessions, and learning workshops to promote accountability and shared ownership Monitoring performance against key indicators such as job creation, enterprise development, and productivity outcomes Identifying implementation bottlenecks and coordinating timely corrective actions Ensuring gender inclusion, safeguarding principles, and technical standards are embedded across all state-level activities Conducting routine field visits, spot checks, and quality audits to assess partner performance and compliance Managing operational risks in collaboration with Programme Quality and Risk teams Serving as GAIN’s focal point for engagement with state governments, implementing partners, private sector stakeholders, and development agencies Supporting zonal budgeting, expenditure tracking, and financial forecasting in coordination with the team lead Candidate Profile GAIN is seeking candidates with proven experience coordinating or managing large-scale development programmes, particularly within agriculture, livelihoods, or private-sector development. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to manage multiple project components while working effectively with diverse stakeholders. Key qualifications and experience include: Experience coordinating field-level activities across multiple partners and locations Strong understanding of donor compliance, organisational standards, and performance tracking Practical knowledge of project management tools and reporting systems Demonstrated capacity to manage projects involving production, market access, and social inclusion Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team A Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Development Studies, Management, Economics, or a related field is required. Certification in project management or development planning is considered an advantage. Compensation and Benefits The starting gross annual salary for this role is NGN 14,550,552, with the possibility of a higher offer for exceptional candidates. Headquartered in Geneva, GAIN operates in countries with high levels of malnutrition, including Nigeria, Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Kenya, India, and Pakistan, supported by representative offices in Europe and the United States.
