The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is recruiting a Communication and Knowledge Management Intern to support its work on food systems and climate policy. This internship offers an opportunity for early-career professionals to contribute to evidence-based research, policy communication, and stakeholder engagement within the development sector. The role is based in New Delhi and will run for six months on a full-time contract, subject to funding availability. The intern will contribute to developing high-quality knowledge products and communication materials that support national and state-level discussions on sustainable food systems, climate resilience, and nutrition. Through research, writing, and coordination tasks, the intern will help translate complex data and policy insights into clear, accessible information for policymakers, donors, development partners, and practitioners. Internship Role Overview The Communication and Knowledge Management Intern will support GAIN India’s work on food systems transformation with a climate lens. The position blends policy research, data interpretation, and communication skills to produce knowledge outputs that inform decision-making and encourage collaboration across stakeholders. The intern will play a key role in synthesising research findings, preparing communication materials, and assisting with knowledge dissemination activities. This experience will provide exposure to development research, policy engagement, and strategic communication in the global nutrition and sustainability sector. Key Responsibilities The intern will assist the team in a variety of research, communication, and coordination tasks, including: Knowledge Product Development Supporting the preparation of policy briefs, reports, fact sheets, and analytical documents Conducting background research and summarising technical information Contributing to the development of evidence-based communication materials Policy and Data Analysis Assisting in reviewing research literature related to climate, agriculture, and nutrition Analysing policy developments and identifying key insights Translating technical and data-heavy findings into accessible narratives for non-technical audiences Event and Knowledge Dissemination Support Assisting in the planning and coordination of webinars, workshops, and knowledge-sharing events Preparing supporting materials such as presentation slides, briefing notes, and background documents Supporting the dissemination of knowledge products across stakeholder networks Administrative and Coordination Support Helping manage multiple tasks and deadlines across ongoing projects Supporting communication among internal teams and external partners Contributing to collaborative initiatives involving multiple stakeholders Candidate Profile The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong interest in policy research, communication, and development work related to food systems and sustainability.
