Role Overview The People & Culture Officer plays a central role in fostering an organizational culture where staff feel supported, valued, and empowered to thrive. Reporting to the Vice President of People & Culture, the role supports both strategic and operational human resources functions. The Officer serves as a trusted resource for staff at all levels, balancing day-to-day people operations with long-term people strategy to ensure a healthy, inclusive, and high-functioning workplace. Key Responsibilities Recruitment and Employer Branding Lead full-cycle recruitment processes in collaboration with hiring managers Develop and refine job descriptions and manage candidate pipelines Conduct initial candidate screenings and coordinate interviews Strengthen employer branding and monitor external reputation Ensure an equitable, responsive, and values-aligned candidate experience Employee Experience and Engagement Partner with the VP of People & Culture to design and implement staff engagement initiatives Support staff surveys, team-building activities, and organizational retreats Design and deliver inclusive and effective onboarding experiences Support the implementation of the organization’s DEIB roadmap in collaboration with internal groups Coordinate professional development, learning opportunities, and coaching Support performance management processes, including goal-setting and annual reviews People Operations, Policies, and Compliance Monitor compliance with employment laws and regulations Develop, implement, and communicate people policies grounded in equity and inclusion Serve as a confidential point of contact for workplace concerns Conduct compensation and benefits benchmarking to support equitable practices Maintain and improve HR systems, workflows, and data processes People Strategy and Organizational Development Contribute to the development and execution of the organization’s people strategy Research and recommend best practices in HR and organizational development Support organizational change processes and internal communications Develop dashboards and track people metrics such as engagement, retention, and time-to-hire Perform additional duties to support team and organizational goals Key Talents and Ways of Being The ideal candidate demonstrates strong people-centered leadership qualities and alignment with feminist values. Key attributes include: Empathy, discretion, and strong interpersonal communication skills Deep commitment to equity, inclusion, and belonging Ability to build trust and maintain confidentiality Collaborative and facilitative leadership style Skill in navigating conflict and fostering constructive dialogue Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities Enthusiasm for supporting people through growth and change Key Skills and Experience Applicants should demonstrate the following qualifications: Minimum 5 years of progressive HR or People & Culture experience Experience in nonprofit or mission-driven environments preferred Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment law, and compliance Experience leading recruitment and talent management processes Proven ability to design and implement HR policies, programs, and systems Experience supporting learning and professional development initiatives Proficiency with HRIS platforms and employee data management Strong written and verbal communication skills Comfort working in diverse, multicultural, and global contexts Alignment with feminist, equity-centered, and community-driven approaches Compensation and Benefits Salary range: USD $75,000 – $105,000 Salary varies based on geographic location to ensure internal equity The stated range reflects high-market geographic benchmarks Commitment to Equity Global Fund for Women is an equal opportunity employer.
