Description

The GLOBIS Human Rights Research Lab is now accepting applications for its Fall 2026 cohort, offering an exciting opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Georgia (UGA) to engage directly with human rights research and advocacy. About the Program The GLOBIS Human Rights Research Lab is a selective, hands-on program designed to immerse students in the study, research, and promotion of human rights. Participants work on real GLOBIS human rights projects, gaining practical experience while taking advanced courses in human rights and research design. Throughout the semester, students apply classroom learning to tangible human rights initiatives, bridging theory and practice. By the end of the program, each student produces a unique independent research product, demonstrating mastery of the skills acquired from both lab projects and academic coursework. Who Should Apply The lab is ideal for UGA undergraduates and graduate students who are: Passionate about human rights issues Interested in developing strong research and analytical skills Motivated to contribute to meaningful projects with real-world impact Participation offers both academic and professional development, helping students build a foundation for careers in human rights, policy, advocacy, or related fields. Key Details Application Deadline: Monday, March 31, 2026 Eligibility: UGA undergraduate and graduate students Program Focus: Human rights research, education, and engagement Outcome: Production of an independent research project Why Join the GLOBIS Human Rights Lab Students gain: Hands-on experience with human rights projects Advanced research and analytical training Opportunities to collaborate with peers and faculty A platform to showcase their independent research The lab emphasizes practical experience, preparing students to address complex human rights challenges and make a meaningful impact locally and globally.
