The Black in Business initiative by Goldman Sachs is a transformative business education program designed to empower sole proprietors with the tools, knowledge, and network needed to scale their businesses sustainably. As part of the broader One Million Black Women initiative, the program focuses on fostering entrepreneurship, economic growth, and long-term financial success within underserved communities. Program Overview The program is a 12-week, fully funded experience that combines online learning with in-person engagement, offering participants both flexibility and immersive business training. Key Features: 12-week online business education program tailored to real business needs In-person sessions at Goldman Sachs headquarters in New York City (all expenses covered) Access to a powerful peer and alumni network Dedicated strategic advisors and mentors Practical tools to support business growth and sustainability Participants gain hands-on experience and guidance to help move their businesses from potential to measurable growth. Eligibility Criteria The program is open to sole proprietors who are committed to growing their businesses and contributing to economic development in their communities. Applicants must meet the following requirements: Operate as a sole proprietor (no full-time employees) Have generated at least $25,000 in revenue over the past 12 months Run an active, revenue-generating business Have been in operation for at least one year Program Commitment Participants are expected to actively engage throughout the program while balancing their business responsibilities. Commitment includes: 9–12 hours per week of online learning (flexible schedule) Development and presentation of a business action plan Participation in in-person orientation and graduation sessions Engagement with mentors, advisors, and fellow entrepreneurs Curriculum Highlights The curriculum, developed in partnership with NYU Stern School of Business, focuses on practical, growth-oriented business skills. Core Modules: Positioning for Growth Customer Attraction Strategies Effective Marketing Techniques Operational Optimization Financial Statement Management Financial Planning & Projections Pricing and Profitability Access to Capital Program Timeline Cohort अवधि: September – December 2026 Application Status: Open now Format: Online learning + in-person sessions in New York City (Note: Dates may be subject to change.)
