Eligibility Criteria To qualify for the 2026 Student Researcher Program, applicants must meet specific academic and technical requirements: Educational Background: Enrollment in a PhD program in Computer Science, Linguistics, Statistics, Biostatistics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Economics, Natural Sciences, or related technical fields. Technical Expertise: Demonstrated experience in areas such as Natural Language Understanding, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Algorithmic Optimization, Quantum Information Science, Data Science, or Software Development. Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is required to facilitate effective global collaboration. Preferred Qualifications include: Enrollment in a full-time degree program and a commitment to return to studies after the internship. Attendance at a Canadian university. Prior experience in research, including internships, full-time roles, or lab-based projects. Proficiency in general-purpose programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or C/C++. Contributions to research communities, including publications in recognized journals or conferences. Application Requirements Applicants must submit the following materials: Updated Curriculum Vitae or Resume Official or unofficial academic transcript in English (PDF preferred) Anticipated graduation dates (MM/YY format) Proficiency in relevant coding languages Candidates will have the option to indicate preferred working locations within Canada. All applications must adhere to the specified submission guidelines, as late applications or those submitted after project capacities are filled will not be considered. Program Structure The Student Researcher Program offers flexible placements in terms of time commitment, project duration, and remote or onsite participation, depending on the specific needs of the research team.
