Overall Purpose of the Role The Branding and Communications Consultant is responsible for strengthening Greenpeace MENA’s public image, reputation, and brand presence across the region. The role focuses on delivering strategic branding, communications, and marketing initiatives that expand visibility, deepen engagement, attract new audiences, and maximise the impact of campaigns and organisational projects. The consultant operates with a high degree of independence and strategic responsibility, contributing to both regional and global Greenpeace initiatives while ensuring strong alignment with organisational values, priorities, and branding guidelines. Scope of Work Execute and manage branding, communications, and marketing strategies for Greenpeace MENA Collaborate with multiple Greenpeace offices globally on shared projects and campaigns Provide strategic leadership across branding initiatives, influencer engagement, and narrative development Manage allocated branding budgets in line with organisational priorities and objectives Key Responsibilities Branding, Communications & Marketing Strategy Lead the implementation of Greenpeace MENA’s branding and communications strategies, ensuring alignment with organisational mission, vision, and goals Design and execute campaigns that strengthen Greenpeace’s brand identity and regional visibility Position Greenpeace MENA as a leading environmental voice through innovative and impactful storytelling Ensure consistency and coherence of messaging across all internal and external communication channels Implement strategies to enhance the public profile of the Executive Director as a regional thought leader in environmental advocacy Influencer Marketing & Brand Ambassadorship Develop and implement influencer engagement strategies to amplify campaign messaging Build and manage partnerships with aligned influencers and brand ambassadors Monitor influencer performance and assess impact to refine engagement approaches Lead the branding of Greenpeace MENA events and support branding integration across other departmental events Message Development & Narrative Building Develop and refine organisational and campaign messaging for diverse platforms and audiences Ensure messaging is culturally sensitive, locally relevant, and tailored to varied personas across the MENA region Oversee the production of high-quality, brand-aligned content including reports, newsletters, campaigns, and stakeholder communications Collaborate with campaign teams to ensure messaging is compelling, impactful, and aligned with branding guidelines Market & Audience Research Lead audience research and brand perception studies to inform strategic decision-making Analyse data and insights to strengthen branding, communications, and marketing outcomes Project Management Lead branding and communications components of cross-departmental initiatives Provide strategic communications support to campaign teams to enhance reach and engagement Crisis Communications Support the Engagement Director with crisis communication planning and execution Contribute to timely, coordinated responses to reputational or external risks Internal Communications Develop internal communication plans in collaboration with People & Culture teams Strengthen staff engagement and ensure internal alignment with organisational milestones and campaigns Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for branding and communications initiatives Monitor progress, evaluate impact, and integrate learning into future strategies Budget Management Manage branding and communications budgets, ensuring efficiency and strategic alignment Qualifications, Skills & Experience Educational Background Graduate or postgraduate degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field Master’s degree preferred Professional Experience Minimum of 7–10 years’ experience in branding, communications, or marketing Proven experience within non-profit or mission-driven organisations Demonstrated success in developing and delivering integrated branding and communications strategies Strong expertise in influencer marketing and partnership management Experience conducting market research and managing public relations initiatives Proven ability to work across cultures and collaborate within global networks Core Skills & Competencies Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic Strong project management, planning, and organisational abilities Exceptional relationship-building skills in multicultural environments Ability to lead initiatives independently and manage multiple priorities Adaptive, solution-oriented, and innovative mindset Values & Commitment Strong commitment to Greenpeace’s values and principles Alignment with non-violent, direct-action-led environmental campaigning Integrity, accountability, and professionalism in all engagements Diversity & Inclusion Statement Greenpeace MENA is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce.
