The successful candidate will provide strategic and technical leadership to ensure the project delivers measurable results aligned with donor expectations, HFHK’s strategic objectives, and national development priorities. This position requires a results-oriented professional with proven expertise in project management, stakeholder engagement, and compliance with donor-funded program requirements. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining strong relationships with implementing partners, local government agencies, and community stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery of project outcomes. Key Responsibilities The Project Coordinator will: Lead the day-to-day coordination and execution of project activities in accordance with approved workplans, budgets, and donor guidelines. Collaborate with technical experts and relevant departments to maintain detailed implementation schedules, procurement plans, and activity calendars. Ensure the timely delivery of high-quality outputs and achievement of project objectives. Serve as the main liaison with implementing partners, ensuring alignment with HFHK’s mission, project goals, and donor expectations. Facilitate joint planning sessions, regular coordination meetings, and partner performance reviews. Support partner organizations in building capacity on compliance, reporting, and technical delivery. Work with the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) team to track indicators, ensure data quality, and integrate feedback into adaptive project management. Prepare comprehensive, evidence-based progress reports in line with donor reporting templates and timelines. Collaborate with the Communications and MEAL teams to document lessons learned, success stories, and good practices. Coordinate with Finance, Operations, Human Resources, and Communications teams to ensure full compliance with donor contractual requirements—including procurement, visibility, and environmental or social safeguards. Develop and maintain an updated project risk mitigation plan. Maintain accurate, organized, and auditable documentation of project activities and expenditures. Build and sustain effective partnerships with county government authorities, community representatives, and other development stakeholders. Represent Habitat for Humanity Kenya at relevant coordination platforms, partner meetings, and donor engagement forums. Key Performance Indicators Alignment of project outcomes with HFHK’s strategic objectives. Effective and compliant implementation of donor-funded activities. Demonstrated performance culture and team motivation. Compliance with national regulations, donor standards, and internal policies. Strengthened relationships with local stakeholders and partner organizations. Qualifications and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Project Management, Social Sciences, or a related field. A Master’s degree will be an added advantage. Minimum of five years’ experience managing donor-funded development projects, ideally within Kenya or similar contexts. Proven experience in partner coordination, compliance, and results-based project management. Strong understanding of development cooperation principles and community-driven programming. Excellent written and oral communication, negotiation, and report-writing skills. Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders under pressure. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strategic and analytical thinking with strong problem-solving capabilities. Effective leadership and team coordination skills. Strong grasp of donor compliance frameworks and financial oversight. Excellent stakeholder engagement and diplomacy. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and recognized project management tools.
