The organization collaborates with healthcare institutions, governments, NGOs, and international bodies to promote environmentally responsible practices and position health systems as leaders in climate action. With regional offices in the United States, Europe, Southeast Asia, and Latin America, as well as a Global Secretariat and international partners, HCWH works across continents to address the intersection of climate and health. A central initiative of the organization is the Global Green and Healthy Hospitals (GGHH) network. This global network includes over 2,300 members across 87 countries, representing more than 70,000 hospitals and health centers. GGHH supports healthcare facilities in becoming low-carbon, resilient, and sustainable institutions while strengthening climate leadership within the health sector. Role Summary The Global Communications Consultant will collaborate closely with HCWH’s Communications and Programmatic teams, particularly the Global Climate team. The successful candidate will support the development of compelling, high-quality bilingual communications content focused on climate and health. The role blends strategic messaging, social media management, analytics tracking, content creation, and digital platform management. It requires both creativity and technical precision, as well as the ability to coordinate across global teams and partners. Key Responsibilities Communications and Narrative Development Collaborate with programmatic teams to produce timely, accurate, and impactful materials Draft program-related communications and external content Cover key global events and climate initiatives Develop compelling impact stories Coordinate with regional offices and international partners to showcase global impact Social Media Management Develop bilingual (English and Spanish) social media messaging Create graphics and visual content using design tools Align messaging across HCWH and GGHH social media accounts Manage daily social media activity Monitor engagement, track KPIs, and prepare performance reports Website and Digital Platforms Track and analyze website and Moodle analytics Identify key performance indicators and recommend improvements Upload and edit website content and digital resources Maintain templates and digital materials Newsletters and Campaigns Support development and distribution of newsletters Assist in campaign launches and digital outreach strategies Strengthen global communications efforts Required Qualifications The ideal candidate will have: At least three years of communications experience, preferably within NGOs or nonprofit organizations A bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience) Excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and Spanish Ability to manage multiple deadlines and shifting priorities Strong independent work ethic in virtual environments Technical Skills Required: Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) Canva Drupal MailChimp Microsoft Office Google Workspace Preferred: Experience with Moodle Who Should Apply?
