Position Overview The Officer, Social Media and Digital Communications plays a central role in shaping and expanding the organization’s global digital presence. This position is responsible for managing social media platforms, supporting website content, and delivering compelling digital storytelling that drives engagement and fundraising outcomes. The role requires a creative and strategic communicator who understands how to tailor content for diverse audiences across multiple platforms. The successful candidate will also contribute to strengthening the digital capabilities of country teams while ensuring brand consistency across all channels. Functional Relationships The Officer will be part of the Center for Brand and Marketing, reporting directly to the Manager, Advertising. Collaboration is a critical component of this role, requiring close coordination with: Content teams to ensure consistent messaging Fundraising teams to support donor engagement and conversion Country offices to guide and strengthen localized social media efforts Key Responsibilities Social Media Management The Officer will lead the organization’s global social media strategy and execution by: Developing and implementing a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with organizational and fundraising priorities Defining annual and quarterly content priorities and campaign themes Managing day-to-day activities across platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and emerging channels Creating and adapting content that reflects a consistent brand voice and drives audience engagement Planning and executing digital campaigns to increase awareness and fundraising performance Monitoring engagement, responding to audiences, and fostering online communities Using analytics tools to track performance and optimize content strategies Advising internal teams on best practices for digital engagement and platform use Additionally, the role supports capacity building across global teams by: Providing training, tools, and guidance to country offices Recommending platform strategies and content improvements Amplifying local content on global channels while maintaining brand consistency Website and Digital Content Support The Officer is also responsible for managing and enhancing the organization’s website and digital fundraising presence by: Planning and executing website updates aligned with campaigns and program visibility Managing digital fundraising tools such as Fundraise Up Coordinating cross-functional input to ensure content accuracy and consistency Improving website structure, user journeys, and calls to action Monitoring website analytics to enhance traffic, engagement, and conversion rates Supporting A/B testing and optimization of donation and landing pages Advising on accessibility standards and digital content best practices Assisting with digital advertising content and email marketing initiatives Staying informed on emerging digital trends and tools is essential to ensure continuous innovation and growth in the organization’s online presence. Qualifications and Experience The ideal candidate demonstrates a balance of technical expertise, creativity, and strategic thinking. Key qualifications include: A degree in marketing, communications, or a related field 4–6 years of experience managing digital communications and social media strategies Proven success in growing and managing brand presence across major platforms Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to adapt tone for different audiences Experience with content management systems such as WordPress Familiarity with social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite) and digital fundraising platforms Ability to create visual and video content using tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite Strong organizational and time management skills A collaborative and solution-oriented mindset Additional advantages include: Experience working in nonprofit or mission-driven environments Proficiency in French Ability to work across multiple time zones, with core alignment to Eastern Standard Time Workplace Values and Culture Employees are expected to contribute to a culture of fairness, inclusion, and respect.
