Hong Kong offers world-class research institutions, advanced laboratory infrastructure, and an international academic environment across eight participating partner universities. Financial Benefits & Fellowship Perks Annual Stipend: HK$344,800 (approx. US$44,150) per year for up to three years. Travel Allowance: HK$14,400 (approx. US$1,840) annually for conference and research-related travel for up to three years. Extended Funding: For candidates requiring more than three years to complete their PhD, participating universities may provide additional financial support. Participating Universities Applicants may choose up to two programs across the eight participating universities: City University of Hong Kong (CityU) Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) Lingnan University (LU) The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) The University of Hong Kong (HKU) Eligibility Criteria Academic Standing: Hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree from a recognized university. Admission: Seeking admission as a new full-time PhD student at one of the eight HKPFS partner universities. Selection Criteria: Outstanding academic performance, strong research capability/potential, leadership skills, and excellent communication abilities. Inclusivity: Open to candidates of all nationalities, ethnic backgrounds, and prior work experience levels. Step 2 (University Application): Submit full PhD admission applications directly to your chosen university/universities using your HKPFS Reference Number before the specific university deadlines.
