This professional role focuses on proactive monitoring of geopolitical, environmental, technological and social risks that may escalate into crises. The analyst will play a critical part in activating crisis management protocols, maintaining regional response playbooks, and coordinating with dispersed teams to ensure operational continuity. The role also includes supporting and demonstrating IBM’s advanced AI capabilities by helping teams implement new AI-driven models and agents to enhance security intelligence workflows. The position sits within IBM Corporate Headquarters, a multidisciplinary environment bringing together experts across operations, legal, finance, HR, marketing and more to support global business functions. Key Responsibilities Intelligence Monitoring and Analysis The analyst will:• Conduct continuous monitoring of open-source intelligence, government alerts and proprietary feeds.• Use, test and help integrate advanced AI models to support tactical intelligence and early-warning analysis.• Identify early indicators of risks such as civil unrest, cyber threats, environmental hazards and public health emergencies.• Produce periodic regional intelligence briefings for decision-makers. Crisis Preparedness and Response The role requires the analyst to:• Ensure that regional crisis management procedures remain updated and aligned with global IBM standards.• Maintain and support crisis management platforms, tools and applications.• Conduct regular tests of crisis playbooks, escalation workflows and business continuity protocols.• Lead or support crisis activation efforts, ensuring timely communication and coordinated action across stakeholders. Stakeholder Coordination Responsibilities include:• Acting as the primary liaison between regional operations teams and the global crisis and intelligence office.• Facilitating training programmes, tabletop simulations and post-crisis after-action reviews.• Building strong relationships with geographically distributed teams, local authorities, NGOs and industry partners.• Supporting capability building and ensuring alignment across diverse regional functions. Documentation and Reporting The analyst will:• Maintain comprehensive logs of intelligence assessments, crisis triggers and response actions.• Produce detailed incident reports and lessons-learned documents.• Contribute to continuous improvement of contingency planning and crisis preparedness strategies. Required Education • Bachelor’s degree (required)• Master’s degree preferred in International Relations, Security Management, Emergency Management or a related field. Required Professional Experience Applicants must demonstrate:• At least five years of experience in intelligence analysis, crisis management or emergency response.• Strong mastery of regional political, social, technological and security dynamics.• Excellent communication, analytical and decision-making skills.• Proficiency with intelligence and data analysis tools.• Fluency in English; additional regional languages are advantageous. Preferred Professional Expertise • Practical experience or formal qualifications related to ISO 22361 crisis management standards.• Applied experience integrating AI-based tools into intelligence or crisis management environments.
