The iF Design has opened applications for the 2026 iF SOCIAL IMPACT PRIZE, inviting companies, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), foundations, social enterprises, public institutions, and entrepreneurs to showcase projects that contribute to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The prestigious competition is free to enter and offers a total annual prize fund of €100,000, distributed across two application rounds. In addition to financial awards, selected projects receive international recognition and increased visibility through one of the world’s leading social impact design platforms. The second application round closes on August 19, 2026, providing eligible organisations with an opportunity to present innovative solutions addressing pressing global challenges. Supporting Projects that Advance the Sustainable Development Goals The iF SOCIAL IMPACT PRIZE recognises initiatives that create measurable social, environmental, or humanitarian impact through innovative ideas, products, services, or programmes. The competition welcomes projects that contribute to one or more of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals across a wide range of sectors. Eligible applicants include: Companies. Design studios. Non-governmental organisations (NGOs). Foundations. Public institutions. Social enterprises. Entrepreneurs. Student projects are not eligible for this competition and are instead directed to the iF DESIGN STUDENT AWARD programme. Free Application Process Participation in the iF SOCIAL IMPACT PRIZE is completely free, allowing organisations of different sizes to compete without entry fees. Applicants can submit multiple projects, provided each project is entered into only one category aligned with the relevant Sustainable Development Goal. All application materials must be submitted in English. Application Requirements Participants must complete an online application through the iF Design portal by providing key information about their project. Applications require the following components: Basic Project Information Applicants must provide: Project title. Relevant Sustainable Development Goal category. Project type. Year the project started. Project start date. Relevant keywords or tags. Project Description A concise project summary of up to 650 characters in English explaining the project’s purpose, impact, and objectives. Visual Materials Applicants are required to upload: At least one main project image. Optional additional landscape and portrait images. Accepted image formats include: JPG. PNG. Images must: Be in RGB colour mode. Not exceed 4,750 pixels in width. Be no larger than 5 MB. Supporting PDF Applicants may upload a PDF document of up to five pages containing: Detailed project information. Plans. Supporting visuals. Additional documentation. This document is reviewed internally by the jury. Project Video Projects should also include a publicly accessible video hosted on: YouTube. Vimeo. Videos must not exceed two minutes and should clearly explain the project’s objectives, activities, and impact. Website Link Applicants should provide a publicly accessible website or online project page that remains continuously available during the evaluation process. Organisation Details Each submission must identify: The applying organisation. The country where the applicant organisation is based. Applicants may also list a partner organisation collaborating on the project, although this is optional. Prize Fund and Recognition The iF SOCIAL IMPACT PRIZE distributes €100,000 annually across two funding rounds. Each application cycle awards a total of €50,000, with prize money shared among multiple outstanding projects selected by the international jury. Beyond financial support, recipients benefit from: Global recognition. International exposure. Increased credibility. Networking opportunities within the global design and innovation community. Important Dates for the 2026 Competition The competition operates through two annual application rounds. Key dates include: First-round application deadline: May 20, 2026. First-round jury evaluation: July 2026. First-round results announcement: August 2026. For the current application cycle: Second-round application deadline: August 19, 2026. Second-round jury evaluation: October 2026. Results announcement: End of November 2026. Applicants are encouraged to complete and review all submission materials before the registration deadline.
