Specific departments have additional educational requirements. Depending on the position, candidates may need bachelor’s, master’s or integrated master’s qualifications in relevant fields. For example: Computer Science candidates should generally have appropriate qualifications in Computer Science, Computer Science and Engineering or a related discipline. Civil Engineering candidates must possess a four-year bachelor’s degree or five-year integrated master’s degree in Civil Engineering. Mechanical Engineering candidates must possess a four-year bachelor’s or five-year integrated master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Chemistry applicants require relevant bachelor’s and master’s qualifications or a five-year integrated master’s degree. Physics candidates require bachelor’s and master’s degrees or an integrated master’s degree in Physics, Applied Physics or Engineering Physics. Health Sciences positions accept relevant qualifications including engineering, biotechnology, biological sciences, pharmacy or MBBS, depending on the advertised area. Assistant Professor Grade I and Grade II The institute has outlined two levels of Assistant Professor appointments based on professional experience. Assistant Professor Grade II: Candidates with less than three years of post-PhD teaching, research or industrial experience may be considered. Assistant Professor Grade I: Candidates with at least three years of post-PhD teaching, research or industrial experience may be considered.
