Inclusive Economic Empowerment (IEE) Pathways Programme 2026 for Young Nigerians Implementer: Centre for Information Technology and Development (CITAD) Supporting Partner: British Council (Non-Formal Education Programme) Location: Kano Metropolis, Nigeria Cohort Size: 50 Participants Target Group: Youths Aged 18–35 (Women, Girls, and Persons with Disabilities Strongly Encouraged) Pathways: Employment Track (with Internship) & Entrepreneurship/Enterprise Track Application Deadline: September 21, 2026 About the Programme The Inclusive Economic Empowerment (IEE) Pathways Programme 2026 is a skill-acquisition and employability initiative implemented by CITAD with funding support from the British Council. The project aims to empower 50 young individuals living in Kano with practical enterprise development, digital skills, and workplace competencies needed to secure decent jobs or launch sustainable businesses. Programme Structure & Phases The training is delivered through a structured, multi-stage curriculum: Foundation Phase (8 Weeks): Core training in basic enterprise concepts, workplace readiness, communication, and foundational skills. Specialized Pathways (8 Weeks): Trainees transition into tailored tracks focused on either startup creation or employment skills. Supervised Internship (6 Weeks): Participants on the Employment Track complete a hands-on placement with partner organizations across Kano. Eligibility Criteria To qualify for selection, applicants must meet the following criteria: Age: Nigerian youth between 18 and 35 years old. Location: Resident of Kano Metropolis (or possess accommodation in Kano for the entire training duration). Education: Minimum of a Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or its equivalent. Language: Ability to communicate effectively in English. Commitment: Available for both physical and online sessions, a physical screening exercise, and the 6-week internship placement.
