Key Responsibilities of the Community Engagement Manager The role involves a wide range of strategic, organizational, and relationship-building responsibilities aimed at strengthening ICA’s engagement with communities and partners. Community Engagement and Relationship Building Core duties include: Developing and implementing national community engagement strategies Building and maintaining relationships with Indigenous communities and organizations Supporting frontline climate justice initiatives Gathering community stories, insights, and feedback The manager will also organize: Surveys and interviews Webinars and workshops Community gatherings and events Supporting Campaigns and Public Outreach The successful candidate will collaborate closely with ICA’s campaigns, communications, and programming teams to create impactful outreach initiatives. Event Planning and Strategic Coordination Another major aspect of the role involves planning and coordinating special events such as: Community gatherings Donor appreciation events Volunteer engagement activities Fundraising initiatives The manager will also maintain outreach calendars and support strategic engagement opportunities that align with ICA’s mission and long-term goals. Required Qualifications and Experience ICA is seeking candidates with strong leadership skills and demonstrated experience in Indigenous community engagement and climate justice organizing. Essential Qualifications Applicants should possess: At least 5 years of community organizing and partnership-building experience Proven experience overseeing staff and contractors Experience planning and facilitating community gatherings Strong budgeting and reporting skills Excellent verbal and written communication abilities Technical and Organizational Skills Candidates are also expected to have proficiency in: Zoom Slack Signal Google Suite Asana CRM platforms Strong digital communication and organizational skills are considered essential for this remote work position. Salary, Work Structure, and Benefits The position offers a competitive salary package ranging between: CAD $85,000 – $100,000 annually Compensation will depend on qualifications and experience. ICA also follows a progressive Four-Day Work Week policy, aiming for a standard 30-hour work week in most cases while maintaining a formal 35-hour structure.
