Overview of the Position IHRB is seeking a Head of Projects – Migration. This leadership role sits at the intersection of labour migration, responsible recruitment, and climate-related mobility. The position integrates oversight of three strategic workstreams: responsible recruitment, IHRB’s activities in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region, and emerging work on climate adaptation, coordinated closely with the Head of Just Transitions. The post-holder will operate within a matrix structure, collaborating across all programme teams to ensure strategic cohesion, financial sustainability, and impact. Expected Outcomes and Strategic Contribution The successful candidate will be responsible for building a coherent, well-resourced strategy for IHRB’s migration and labour rights portfolio. The role requires ensuring high-quality project delivery, strong accountability mechanisms, and clear impact reporting. A key expectation is the diversification of funding streams, including stewardship of existing philanthropic and government partners and expansion of the funding base. The post-holder will also foster a strong, inclusive team culture and enhance IHRB’s external visibility among business, investors, policymakers, and civil society organisations. Position Details The role reports to the Deputy CEO and is expected to begin in January or February 2026. It is a full-time, remote position, open to candidates with the legal right to work in their country of residence and the ability to work with reasonable overlap to CET. Depending on the candidate’s location, employment will be through a UK contract or a consultancy arrangement. The salary range is £65,000–£75,000, depending on experience in programme management and fundraising. Benefits include 36 days of annual leave and an additional winter office closure. Key Responsibilities Programme Management (40%) The Head of Projects – Migration will provide strategic oversight for Gulf Sustain, responsible recruitment, and climate and migration initiatives. Responsibilities include converting strategy into annual plans, managing risks, monitoring delivery, and ensuring alignment with IHRB’s overarching mission. The role requires anticipating global and regional trends, identifying opportunities for collective action, and overseeing budget ownership, forecasting, scenario planning, and reporting. Close collaboration with Operations and Finance is expected to ensure strong delivery systems and compliance. Fundraising and Donor Relations (30%) The post-holder will lead donor stewardship across the portfolio, nurturing relationships with philanthropic and government donors. They will identify new funding opportunities, prepare compelling proposals, and ensure timely, accurate reporting and audit compliance. Representation and Partnerships (15%) The role includes representing IHRB in high-level forums, the media, and global events. The Head of Projects – Migration will build strategic partnerships with governments, civil society, companies, and financial actors, while ensuring meaningful participation of affected groups in convenings and dialogues. Team Leadership and Matrix Collaboration (15%) The successful candidate will manage team members and consultants, set clear objectives, and support professional development. They will model inclusive, collaborative leadership and strengthen matrix-based ways of working across programmes. Desired Experience and Skills Candidates should have a strong track record in leading multi-stakeholder programmes, fundraising, and managing substantial budgets. Subject matter expertise in migration, labour rights, or just transitions is required, alongside the ability to influence corporate practices. Strong communication, cross-cultural collaboration, and political judgement are essential. Experience in the GCC region or Arabic language skills are advantageous but not mandatory.
