Its mission is to support States in achieving safe, orderly, and regular international migration, ensuring that people on the move—including those displaced by the impacts of climate change, environmental degradation, and disasters—are protected and assisted. Aligned with IOM’s Strategic Plan 2024–2028, Climate Road Map, and the Institutional Strategy on Migration, Environment and Climate Change 2021–2030, IOM’s Climate Change programming focuses on three core objectives: Solutions for people to move – Managing migration in contexts shaped by climate and environmental pressures. Solutions for people on the move – Protecting and assisting migrants and displaced persons affected by environmental and climate-related hazards. Solutions for people to stay – Enhancing resilience and reducing the environmental drivers that force people to migrate. The Senior Administrative Assistant will provide high-level administrative and secretarial support to the Climate Action Division (CAD), under the direct supervision of the Director. Responsibilities Administrative and Logistical Support Provide comprehensive administrative assistance to the Director, Head of Unit, and Chief of Units, including scheduling meetings, organizing duty travel (TDY), and coordinating with other departments. Offer logistical support to all CAD staff as needed. Assist in planning and organizing divisional meetings, taking minutes, and improving internal workflow processes. Contract and HR Coordination Initiate, monitor, and process payments for local consultancy contracts. Coordinate recruitment-to-payment steps with divisional focal points. Liaise with the Human Resources Department to ensure staff, consultants, and interns receive necessary credentials (badge, email account, carte de légitimation). Procurement, Finance, and Travel Provide support in procurement, budgeting, and payment procedures. Coordinate and oversee Travel Request (TR) processes for CAD. Other Duties Perform any additional tasks assigned by the supervisor. Qualifications Education High school diploma with six years of relevant experience, OR Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Social Sciences, International Relations, or related field with four years of experience. Experience Experience working in an international organization. Demonstrated ability in record-keeping, reporting, and supporting project implementation. Skills Strong organizational, administrative, and communication skills. Proven experience managing contracts, workflows, and travel administration. Ability to work collaboratively and meet tight deadlines. Languages Fluency in English (oral and written) is required. Working knowledge of French is highly desirable. Knowledge of another UN language (Arabic, Chinese, Russian, Spanish) is an advantage.
