Job Overview IRC’s Immigration Legal Services program assists over 14,000 individuals annually, providing vital legal representation and advice. This position supports legal practitioners in helping immigrants navigate the complex U.S. immigration system, including naturalization, family-based petitions, adjustments of status, and affirmative asylum. The role also involves conducting community-based workshops and supporting refugees and others with immigration services. Staff hired for this position will work towards DOJ (Department of Justice) accreditation, with support from IRC’s Immigration Technical Unit. Major Responsibilities Client Support: Assist clients in understanding their immigration benefits, gather necessary documents, and help with application completion. Case Management: Respond to client inquiries, monitor case statuses with USCIS and DOS, and prepare responses to requests for evidence. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date files, enter required data, and generate case reports. Community Outreach: Engage with clients and the community, including organizing legal events, outreach activities, and group processing events. Confidentiality & Compliance: Uphold client confidentiality and follow IRC’s ethical guidelines, including immigration program policies. DOJ Accreditation: Pursue DOJ accreditation by completing required training and certifications. Job Requirements Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. Experience: At least one year in immigration services or related work. Skills: Ability to work effectively with multi-cultural and Limited English Proficient (LEP) populations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and online immigration software. Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills. Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal. Demonstrated commitment to immigrant rights, social justice, or human rights. License/Certifications: Valid driver’s license and eligibility for fingerprint clearance in accordance with Arizona state law. Preferred Skills Proficiency in Spanish, Dari, Pashto, and/or Farsi. Previous experience with immigration legal services or social services. Familiarity with immigration software and data management. Experience in community-based outreach and immigrant rights advocacy. Work Environment Location: Standard office environment with occasional community outreach and legal assistance events. Hours: May require some weekend or evening work. Compensation and Benefits Pay Range: $20.16 per hour (for U.S.-based candidates). Benefits: Competitive health, dental, and vision insurance.
