The HR Analyst, Client Services position in Bangkok offers an exceptional opportunity for HR professionals seeking impactful work within the UN system. As part of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the selected candidate will support HR functions across the Asia-Pacific region while contributing to Sustainable Development Goal 5: Gender Equality. This international UN Volunteer Specialist assignment runs for 12 months starting 15 January 2026, with the possibility of extension. About UNFPA and the Regional Context UNFPA operates in more than 150 countries, championing a world where every pregnancy is wanted, every birth is safe, and every young person can fulfill their potential. The Asia-Pacific region offers a highly diverse operational landscape, requiring cultural sensitivity, adaptability, and strong regional collaboration. The HR Analyst will be based in Bangkok, a vibrant and affordable city known for its rich culture, excellent healthcare, and wide range of housing options. The region’s dynamic nature demands flexibility and an open mindset, making this assignment both professionally enriching and personally rewarding. Role Purpose and Reporting Structure The HR Analyst will work within the Regional HR Team at UNFPA APRO, directly supporting the Senior HR Business Partner. They will provide critical operational support to Regional and Country Offices, ensuring smooth, timely, and client-focused HR service delivery. Key Responsibilities A. Delivery of HR Services Interpret and apply HR policies, processes, and practices. Support end-to-end HR service delivery including: Talent sourcing and recruitment Onboarding and induction Mobility and workforce planning Performance and talent management Contract and HR operations Use HR metrics to monitor service delivery and recommend improvements. Conduct research to enhance policies and strengthen HR services. Prepare analytical reports, briefs, and presentations. Collaborate with regional colleagues and the HR Analytics Unit to monitor workforce trends. B. Partnership and Coordination Ensure compliance with standards relating to duty of care, ethics, audit, evaluation, and PSEA. Work with DMS, PSD, and Corporate HR on realignment processes. Coordinate with UNDP benefits and entitlements teams. Maintain a regional HR master schedule to ensure consistent training and communication. C. Knowledge Development and Sharing Actively engage in HR communities of practice. Facilitate cross-country learning and on-the-job development. Organize information-sharing sessions for HR focal points. Build networks across the UN system to exchange good HR practices. UN Volunteer Engagement UN Volunteers are expected to promote volunteerism by: Participating in UNV activities and learning about volunteerism. Supporting local volunteer initiatives. Contributing articles, field stories, and end-of-assignment reports. Assisting in onboarding new UN Volunteers. Encouraging the use of online volunteering platforms. Expected Outputs High-quality HR advisory and operational support. Improved time-to-recruit and streamlined HR processes. Effective onboarding experiences for new staff. Strengthened HR capacity across the region. Consistent application of Age, Gender, and Diversity principles. A final report documenting volunteer contributions and achievements. Candidate Profile Required Qualifications Master’s degree in HR, Business/Public Administration, Organizational Development, or related fields. At least 3 years of relevant HR experience supporting large or global operations. Key Competencies Professionalism & Integrity: Sound judgement, discretion, and commitment to UN values. Teamwork & Diversity Awareness: Ability to work respectfully in multicultural environments. Communication: Strong written and oral communication skills for diverse audiences. Planning & Organization: Strong multitasking skills and ability to manage competing priorities. Analytical Ability: Skilled in data analysis and problem-solving. Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to changing contexts and travel if required. Preferred Skills Experience with Oracle-based HRMS. Background in development or humanitarian organizations. High IT proficiency and an interest in UNFPA’s mission. Living and Working in Bangkok Affordable cost of living and high-quality medical care.
