This position offers a distinctive opportunity to gain hands-on experience in global health coordination, event management, and international collaboration within one of the world’s leading public health networks. About WFPHA Founded in 1967 and based in Geneva, Switzerland, the WFPHA is an international, nongovernmental organization representing and connecting public health associations and professionals worldwide. The Federation works to strengthen public health capacities, advocate for equitable health policies, and foster collaboration across borders. Through advocacy, education, and capacity-building, WFPHA plays a vital role in advancing global health priorities, addressing emerging challenges, and supporting the next generation of public health leaders. About the Internship The selected intern will work closely with WFPHA’s international team to support the coordination of Global Public Health Week (GPHW), an annual event uniting practitioners, researchers, institutions, and communities around shared goals for improving global health outcomes. The intern will contribute to the planning, management, and promotion of GPHW activities by assisting with event tracking, outreach, and logistical coordination. This internship offers a dynamic learning environment for individuals passionate about public health, international development, and global cooperation. Administrative Support: Assist with the preparation of promotional materials, event schedules, and participant lists. Monitoring and Reporting: Support progress tracking and compile reports summarizing participation and engagement trends. Team Collaboration: Work closely with WFPHA staff and volunteers to ensure effective coordination across all project components. The internship is designed to be remote, enabling participation from candidates worldwide who can effectively manage tasks across different time zones. Required Qualifications and Skills WFPHA seeks applicants who demonstrate a strong commitment to public health and international collaboration. The ideal candidate will possess: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (data sorting, filtering, and table management). Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Fluency in English (required); knowledge of other languages is an asset. A collaborative mindset, with enthusiasm for working in a multicultural environment. A proactive, adaptable approach, with the ability to multitask and take initiative. Previous experience with international organizations, NGOs, or event coordination is beneficial but not required. Internship Conditions The internship is unpaid, and WFPHA does not cover relocation expenses or provide visa sponsorship for international students. However, the remote structure ensures accessibility to candidates regardless of geographic location, offering valuable professional exposure within a leading international public health network. Duration and Commitment The internship begins on February 1, 2026, and runs for a minimum of three months. It can be structured as part-time or full-time, depending on the candidate’s availability and academic schedule. Interns are expected to maintain consistent communication and meet agreed-upon deliverables throughout the internship period.
