Programme Overview The SANParks Internship Programme is designed to equip graduates with hands-on experience in a professional environment aligned with conservation, tourism, and corporate services. Key details include: Duration: 24 months Monthly Stipend: R6,335.69 Location: Various SANParks sites across South Africa, including regions such as Kruger National Park and Groenkloof National Park Employment Guarantee: No obligation for permanent employment after completion This initiative reflects SANParks’ broader mandate to support conservation while contributing to socio-economic transformation through skills development. Fields of Study and Placement Areas The programme offers placements across multiple departments, aligning academic qualifications with organisational needs. Available fields include: Tourism and Marketing Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Finance & Accounting Customer Relations and Loyalty (Wild Card Programme) Tourism Management, Business Administration, Marketing, Communications Socio-Economic Transformation Administration (Kruger National Park) Business Management, Economics, Supply Chain (Knysna, George, Plettenberg, Port Elizabeth) Environmental Education, Natural or Social Sciences (Groenkloof) Social Sciences including Sociology, Anthropology, Development Studies (Port Elizabeth) Communications Information Science Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Marketing Events Management, Public Relations Information and Communication Technology (ICT – Groenkloof) Computer Science, Software Development, Web Development IT Support and related fields Finance Accounting Legal Services LLB These placements allow interns to gain exposure to real-world projects while contributing to SANParks’ mission. Eligibility Criteria To qualify for the internship programme, applicants must meet the following requirements: Be an unemployed South African citizen aged between 18 and 35 Hold a National Diploma (NQF Level 6) from a recognised Higher Education Institution Have no prior work experience or internship participation Meet the specific academic requirements for the chosen field Candidates applying outside their home region must be prepared to arrange their own accommodation and transport. Application Process Applicants are required to follow a structured submission process to ensure eligibility. Required steps: Complete the online application form Submit supporting documents via email, including: Updated CV Certified copy of ID Matric/Grade 12 certificate Academic qualifications and transcripts Important considerations: Incomplete applications will not be considered Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted Foreign qualifications must be evaluated by the South African Qualifications Authority All appointments are subject to verification and screening Selection and Conditions The selection process may include: Assessments Interviews conducted at designated locations SANParks reserves the right not to make an appointment, and manual applications are not accepted.
