Save the Children International is currently recruiting for two strategic roles on its Global Diplomacy & Engagement Team. Both positions are designed to enhance the organization’s influence at the international level, particularly within United Nations systems in New York and Geneva. These are full-time, permanent roles that will contribute to shaping global humanitarian and child rights agendas. 1. Humanitarian Advocacy Advisor, UN Location: Geneva or New YorkContract Type: Permanent, Full-timeGrade: P3Reports To: Director of Global Diplomacy, Engagement & UNWork Pattern: Hybrid/Remote (must be located in Geneva or New York time zone)Language Requirements: English (required), French (desirable)International Travel: Up to 10%Right to Work: Required in the selected location Purpose of the Role: The Humanitarian Advocacy Advisor is responsible for leading Save the Children’s humanitarian advocacy at the United Nations. This includes promoting priority messages, influencing key UN bodies, and ensuring the integration of field perspectives into global policy. Key Responsibilities: Represent Save the Children in UN forums, including the Security Council, General Assembly, and Human Rights Council. Lead and coordinate humanitarian advocacy strategies aligned with organizational priorities. Plan and support high-level meetings, events, and outreach to promote Save the Childrenās humanitarian agenda. Engage with Permanent Missions and Member States to influence policies that impact children in crises. Build and maintain relationships with UN agencies, partner NGOs, and multilateral platforms. Facilitate collaboration with country offices and technical teams to ensure consistent global-local alignment. Promote safe and meaningful child participation in advocacy initiatives. 2. Child Rights Advocacy Advisor, UN Location: Geneva or New YorkContract Type: Permanent, Full-timeGrade: P3Reports To: Deputy Director, Global Diplomacy & EngagementWork Pattern: Hybrid/Remote (must be located in Geneva or New York time zone)Language Requirements: English (required), additional UN language desirableRight to Work: Required in the selected location Purpose of the Role: The Child Rights Advocacy Advisor will lead Save the Children’s child rights advocacy strategy at the United Nations. The position focuses on advancing childrenās rights in multilateral policy spaces and ensuring that UN member states and bodies remain accountable to international child rights commitments. Key Responsibilities: Lead advocacy efforts on child rights with UN agencies and diplomatic missions. Represent Save the Children in multilateral coalitions and working groups. Support global influencing campaigns in coordination with the child rights and technical teams. Promote and safeguard meaningful child participation in global advocacy processes. Provide strategic guidance on how country and regional child rights agendas can inform and influence international decision-making. Serve as the teamās focal point for child participation and child safeguarding. About the Global Diplomacy & Engagement Team This high-impact team leads Save the Childrenās external representation and global policy engagement. It works across humanitarian and development sectors, unifying advocacy messages and amplifying local priorities on the world stage. Through strategic engagement with the UN, African Union, Gulf institutions, and other global bodies, the team ensures the organization is positioned as a leader in influencing international norms and policies affecting children.
