Kalyet Afya Foundation announces an opportunity for qualified and motivated individuals to join its team and contribute to community health and development initiatives across its project sites. The organization seeks a dynamic professional with a strong interest in community-driven solutions, public health engagement, and youth-centered programming. About the Role The selected candidate will support the planning, coordination, and implementation of community-based programs. This includes contributing to Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) activities, youth engagement initiatives, and broader health and development interventions. The position requires regular interaction with community members, partners, and stakeholders, making strong communication and mobilization skills essential. Minimum Qualifications Kalyet Afya Foundation is seeking an individual who meets the following minimum requirements: Education Bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields: Community Development Public Health Social Sciences Project Management Any related discipline Professional Experience At least one year of experience in: Community health programs SRHR interventions Youth development initiatives Broader development or humanitarian projects Technical Skills Demonstrated experience in: Project planning Project implementation Monitoring and tracking progress Preparing activity and narrative reports Strong skills in: Community mobilization Stakeholder engagement Working with diverse groups, including youth, women, and community leaders Effective written and verbal communication abilities Ability to work: Independently with minimal supervision Collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team Proficiency in: Microsoft Word Microsoft Excel Microsoft PowerPoint Availability and Flexibility Willingness and ability to travel across project sites as required Openness to fieldwork and community-based assignments Added Advantage Candidates with additional training or certification will be considered favourably, especially in areas such as: SRHR Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Safeguarding Community facilitation These added qualifications enhance the candidate’s ability to support impact-driven activities, ensure participant safety, and contribute to strong program quality and accountability. Key Responsibilities While specific tasks may vary depending on project needs, the successful applicant is expected to contribute to the following core functions: Program Support Assist in planning and organizing community outreach sessions Support SRHR and youth-focused programs Participate in awareness campaigns, workshops, and training sessions Monitoring and Reporting Help collect and compile field data Document lessons learned, success stories, and activity reports Contribute to monitoring visits and follow-up actions Community Engagement Mobilize community groups for program activities Strengthen relationships with beneficiaries, local leaders, and partner organizations Participate in discussions that identify emerging community needs Stakeholder Coordination Work closely with health facilities, local organizations, and government departments Support collaboration across multidisciplinary project teams Engage with youth groups to promote meaningful participation Personal Attributes The Foundation values individuals who demonstrate: Commitment to community development Integrity and professionalism Strong interpersonal skills Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities A proactive and adaptable work ethic Why This Role Matters This position offers an opportunity for early-career professionals to advance their experience in community health and development.
