Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), also known as Doctors Without Borders, is seeking a Chronic and Infectious Diseases Implementer to support its global medical humanitarian operations. This role is based in London, United Kingdom, and is offered as a 14-month fixed-term contract (maternity cover) with a hybrid working arrangement. Role Overview and Purpose The Chronic and Infectious Diseases Implementer plays a key role in strengthening MSF’s capacity to deliver integrated healthcare services in complex humanitarian settings. The role focuses on improving the implementation of programmes addressing: HIV/AIDS Tuberculosis (including drug-resistant TB) Hepatitis Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) The position contributes to ensuring continuity of care for patients living in fragile health systems, where access to consistent treatment is often disrupted. Key Responsibilities The role combines clinical expertise, programme support, and strategic input across MSF’s operational contexts. Programme Implementation Support Provide high-quality technical and operational support to field missions Ensure delivery of context-adapted healthcare strategies Strengthen integration of chronic and infectious disease services Policy and Strategic Contribution Support development and updating of MSF policies and guidelines Contribute to strategic frameworks in chronic disease and infectious disease programming Engage in advocacy related to global health priorities Clinical and Technical Expertise Offer guidance on best practices for managing HIV, TB, Hepatitis, and NCDs Support implementation of evidence-based clinical protocols Ensure quality and continuity of care in challenging environments Capacity Building and Collaboration Train and mentor field staff and multidisciplinary teams Collaborate with international teams, national authorities, and partner organisations Strengthen coordination across MSF operational centres Required Qualifications and Experience The role requires a strong clinical background combined with experience in humanitarian or low-resource settings. Education and Professional Status Qualified medical doctor Valid registration with a recognised professional body Demonstrated postgraduate clinical experience Professional Experience Candidates should demonstrate: Experience in managing and implementing chronic care programmes Previous work in humanitarian or low- and middle-income country settings Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Experience working in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams Technical and Core Skills Strong clinical knowledge of chronic and infectious diseases Experience in training, mentoring, and coaching healthcare teams Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organisational skills with attention to detail Ability to engage with senior stakeholders and international partners Digital and Technical Competence Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 tools Experience working in hybrid environments using platforms such as: Teams SharePoint OneDrive Yammer Employment Details Location: London, United Kingdom (Hybrid – 2 days in office) Contract duration: 14 months (maternity cover) Working hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday–Friday) Salary range: £61,531.29 – £75,204.91 per annum Start date: June 2026 (projected) Candidates must have the legal right to work in the UK, as visa sponsorship is not provided.
