The organisation is led by medical and public health professionals from diverse backgrounds who are committed to improving access to quality healthcare in complex humanitarian settings. Through emergency response, health systems strengthening, and capacity-building initiatives, MedGlobal works to ensure that lifesaving care reaches those most in need. Its mission is grounded in dignity, equity, and evidence-based practice. Position Summary MedGlobal is seeking an experienced Information Management Volunteer to provide technical support across multi-sectoral humanitarian programmes. Working remotely and reporting to the Health & Nutrition Specialist, the volunteer will strengthen organisational information systems, improve dashboards, and support the design and rollout of an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system. The role focuses on improving data quality, accessibility, and usability to enhance evidence-based decision-making. The successful candidate will play a key role in aligning information systems with clinical workflows and donor reporting requirements while ensuring compliance with data governance standards. Key Responsibilities Information Management and Dashboards Review, enhance, and maintain programmatic and clinical dashboards for senior leadership and technical teams. Align dashboards with programme objectives, donor requirements, and operational decision-making needs. Automate data flows to reduce manual reporting and improve timeliness. Standardise indicators and visualisation approaches across sectors, particularly in health and nutrition. Field Office Support Provide technical support to field offices on information management systems. Troubleshoot systems and optimise tools to improve efficiency and usability. Develop and refine data collection tools using platforms such as Kobo, ODK, DHIS2, Power BI, and Excel-based systems. Build capacity of field staff in data collection, reporting, and basic analysis. Ensure consistency in reporting formats and data structures across operational locations. EMR System and Platform Development Support the design, customisation, and rollout of an EMR system suitable for humanitarian and low-resource contexts. Collaborate with the Health & Nutrition Specialist, MEAL team, Medical Director, and clinical teams to align system functionality with clinical workflows. Contribute to system documentation, user guidance materials, and data governance protocols. Facilitate interoperability between the EMR system and other organisational platforms where applicable. Data Quality, Governance and Compliance Establish and maintain data quality assurance processes, including validation checks and routine reviews. Ensure compliance with organisational standards for data protection, confidentiality, and ethical handling of health and nutrition data. Support development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and information management guidelines. Analysis and Reporting Produce analytical outputs such as tables, graphs, and visual summaries for internal reports and donor submissions. Provide tailored data analysis for senior leadership and technical teams as required. Contribute to performance monitoring, periodic programme reviews, and lessons learned exercises. Additional Support Provide ad-hoc information management assistance to programme and technical teams. Support cross-sector integration of information systems where appropriate. Stay informed on emerging best practices in humanitarian information management and digital health systems. Deliverables Indicative outputs include: Improved and functional organisational dashboards Standardised information management tools for field offices EMR system design and/or implementation milestones Data governance and quality assurance documentation Periodic analytical briefs and reporting outputs Qualifications and Skills The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise combined with humanitarian sector experience. Essential Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Public Health, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field. Minimum five years of experience in information management, preferably within humanitarian or development contexts. Demonstrated experience designing and managing dashboards and data visualisation tools. Strong proficiency in Power BI, Excel, Kobo/ODK, DHIS2, or similar platforms. Understanding of health information systems and clinical data workflows. Knowledge of data protection, confidentiality, and ethical data handling standards. Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for non-technical audiences. Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent communication and coordination skills. Fluency in English. Desirable Qualifications Experience supporting health programmes or clinical information systems. Previous involvement in EMR systems or digital health platforms. Experience working with international NGOs or UN agencies. Arabic or other relevant language skills.
