Applications are now open for the 2026 MultiChoice Talent Factory Academy Program. The MultiChoice Talent Factory (MTF) is the MultiChoice Group’s shared-value initiative that exists to EDUCATE the next generation of African storytellers and UPSKILL existing African filmmakers to improve the quality of productions across Africa. MTF is MultiChoice’s long-term commitment to making a socio-economic difference, playing a key role – alongside government, various stakeholders, businesses, and civil society – in growing Africa’s film industries into vibrant, economic hubs. We prepare the students as future business owners who will in turn, play their own part in building an economy around the industry. The MultiChoice Talent Factory (MTF) academies offer students a fully funded, 12-month filmmaking program that combines both theory and hands-on experience. With four strategically located academies in Kenya, Nigeria, Zambia, and South Africa, MTF provides aspiring filmmakers across 14 African countries with practical training, valuable industry exposure, and access to professional networks. This comprehensive approach equips them to succeed in the competitive entertainment industry. The one-year program covers a broad range of film modules, including scriptwriting, cinematography, directing, production management, and various post-production specialties. Upon completion, each student (excluding those in South Africa) receives a university-accredited certificate from our esteemed partner universities: the University of Zambia, Kenyatta University (in Kenya), and Pan Atlantic University (in Nigeria). Our course facilitators are all practicing filmmakers, each highly regarded within their specialty, ensuring students learn from the best in the field. Requirements MTF is looking for: Recent young African graduates passionate about storytelling Young creatives who want to contribute meaningfully to the local and pan-African TV and film landscape Individuals hungry to learn, innovate, collaborate, and shape the future of screen entertainment. The year-long, fully-sponsored programme is offered through regional MTF academies in South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria and Zambia. The students get the chance to learn about filmmaking by making films, developing their skills in film and TV production alongside industry greats.
